I posted it in with the free coke thread because I figured that's what people were looking for.
Also, I didn't want to make a new post because I wasn't sure it would work in every store. The place I found the code said it was valid for only 2 stores in Victoria, but it worked for me, so I only left it there.
I had pizza today. It was bad. I expected it, but was still disappointed. Maybe it's just the chefs at Rowville. Maybe a different Dominos makes better pizzas. I hope so.

Every time I go there, all of the staff are Indian. Doesn't matter what time of the day, everyone I see there is Indian. And they don't look like kids.
I'm not saying Indians can't cook or anything. I'm cool with them. It's not something I have a problem with. It's just a mighty coincidence. Or the manager is only hiring their friends and family.
Come to think of it, my nearest Pizza Hut is also all Indian.
I used to work at a Dominos, I was the only non-Indian staff member at my store. There are so many because they are the only ones who are willing to do the below minimum wage delivery driver job…
Isn't it illegal to pay below minimum wage though? And it's not just their drivers. It's almost everyone it seems.
They pay the absolute minimum at age 21, and the standard percentages below this. The big thing is that they somehow don't have to pay casual loading to the drivers, which means that they get $15.51 an hour maximum as opposed to the $21 or so dollars for in-store people who do get the loading. There is also no additional pay loading for public holidays, late nights or Sundays for both drivers and in-stores. This is how my manager explained it to me when I enquired after looking into national minimum wage rates. The shitty wage is the key reason why I don't work there anymore, though some nights the tips did make up for it.
The majority of the Indian guys that I worked with were in their mid to late 20's and had 2 jobs, a 9-5 day job and then the 6-close Dominos shift, or the day shift at Domino's and then a night at a petrol station or Maccas.
Probably the drivers were hired on a casual basis therefore loading isn't the same (or doesn't apply to them)?
The drivers are casuals generally, the casual loading is 20-25% extra on top of the standard rate which casuals are supposed to get because they don't get annual leave, sick leave and other things that part time and full time employees are entitled to.
I'm not sure how the other loadings work, all I know is that I was 21 getting $15.51 an hour and I had the opportunity to get a job that paid $24 an hour, so as a student it wasn't a hard choice, shit pay and late night hours or good pay with day hours…
Well that explains why Dominos pizzas taste so bad. I can understand Maccas and HJ because their burgers are being made by unmotivated 15 year olds getting $8 an hour or less. But these guys hire above 21s and still pay bad.
Is there high turnover at these stores, or do Indians just grin and bear it?
There are plenty of people under 18 who are getting $8 an hour at dominos too. There wasn't an overly high turnover of people at my store, the Indian guys seemed to not mind the bad pay, all but one of the guys that was there when I started in 2010 was still there when I left earlier this year and the one that wasn't there had moved to a different store owned by the same guy.
A friend of mine did work at a different store where they did have a massive turnover rate, this store was staffed by mostly not Indians, so maybe there is something in hiring these guys…
