      • That's what I tried to tell my wife :D

        • +1

And hows sleep from the couch like?

          • @xoom: It's a bloody wooden bench :D

            • +1

@datafellows: Could be worst. In the dog house.

              • @xoom: :D

Ok, I'll get the phone, it doesn't sound that bad after all :D

  • Currently have a x2 pro. Oppo offered $745 for a trade in, so X5 pro comes down to $254 changeover then throw in the pad promo ( kids Xmas present) . Seems too good to pass esp when looking to change phones

    • Someone replied above saying the tablet promo doesnt stack with trade in :(

    • how does this work? its a trade in voucher ? so you have to buy from Oppo ?

    • +1

nah its off the RRP for trade in

    • can confirm that trade-in only works for RRP $1799 - $745 = $1054

      • Yep so can I , just got off Oppo live chat. Oh well was worth a try

        • Yup, I tried the same thing, quite annoying. Was hoping to get $810 for my find X3 pro and trade up

  • +1
    • Would I still be eligible to claim the pad if purchase at OW not JB?

      • +1

        Thats a yes.

Participating Retailer means JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks, Big W, The Good Guys, Bing Lee, Amazon, Kogan, Catch, MobileCiti, Woolworths Mobile, Yes Distribution, Telstra, TPG Telecom (Vodafone Australia), Wireless1 and OPPO e-Store.

You claim the pad air here

        https://oppopromotions.com.au/

  • +1

The only thing stopping me are the rounded edges of the screen.

    • +1

Yup, I've got the find x3 pro, annoying to get a good glass screen protector for a curved edge screen. Was tempted to swap to a ZenFone 9 or Xperia 1 IV for their flat displays.

  • Very tempted to upgrade from Find X2 pro, Amazon has also price matched OPPO Find X5 Pro

    • But won’t ship until 7.12… terrible.

  • Grabbed one thanks op!

  • +1

Thanks OP - Grabbed one as well to replace my Note10 that has weak battery life

  • How would this go replacing a S10+ ?

    • Zippier, faster charging, better screen imo, pretty darn good cameras. I'm holding out for the X6 Pro, the rumoured camera setup seems good.

  • I am just after the phone… Should I wait it to be sold on its own? I would rather not have the hassle of selling the pad air.

    • +1

      don't redeem the air pad

    • Yep I'm the same just want the phone, just got a Lenovo with the same specs few weeks back from 11.11 sale.

      • It's a redemption deal. Buy the phone, don't redeem the tablet. Or if you don't care much for how much you get, take it to cash converters. Looks like JB hi-fi, Oppo and Samsung won't accept the tablet as trade in

    • You dont get the pad air unless you redeem it. Better yet give the details to someone so they can claim it.

  • Is this phone with 2 Nano SIMs or 1 Nano and 1 eSIM? jbhifi has it as 1 nano+1esim whereas mobileciti has 2nano

    • +2

It has two nano SIM slots. SIM 2 will be disabled if an eSIM is installed.

  • Anyone know how long Air tablet claim process takes?

    • I would also like to know this..

    • I purchased the phone on 22/11 and put through the tablet claim that afternoon. I got an email earlier today (24/11) approving my claim with a link to purchase the tablet (for $0) on the Oppo website today. Unsure how long delivery will take.

  • +2

$861.47 from Sydneytec on eBay using the FRIBLK22 code. But I suppose it's still cheaper from JB using the TCN gift cards. Or you can beat that with eBay gift cards too.

They don't seem to be on the participating retailers list but in the picture on eBay it says it comes with the pad via redemption? Edit: oh they seem to be wireless1?

    • Paid $40 more via wireless1 last night… Didn't notice the search result of Sydneytec on the 2nd page. Good find! I guess it's fair enough :( Always difficult to beat the lowest price.

    • Problem is with TCN gift cards from Coles, there is only a max of 5 gift cards per person

      • Just challenge accepted for some.

    • Postage a bit slow though, delivery by 2 Dec, to where I am though. So pickup from local JBs the best, to beat the deadline submission. (They require screenshot on your phone status for the claim)

  • I got the phone for 985. All I did was reach out to the live chat on JBHIFI website and bundled the wireless charger which I got for 30 dollars less also.

    • Which wireless charger did you get and how much did you pay for it? Are you saying you paid $985 in total including a wireless charger?

    • Hey mate, I was trying to PM you but I realised your PMs are off. Would you be willing to tell me who you spoke to? Trying to get Live Chat to help me out and they are asking me for the name of who helped you out. If you could share a receipt (feel free to block out personal info) that would be golden as well!

  • OOS on ebay

  • What does the “single sim” Vodafone unlocked find x5 pro now listed on eBay mean ?
Does it just mean single physical sim but can have an esim as a second sim?

And is there any difference between the standard version and “Vodafone unlocked” version ?

    • I'm trying to work out the same thing. Its $818 on Ebay for same model number (CPH2305) except JB hifi has the AU on the end (MODEL: CPH2305AU WHITE)

      • How are you getting it down to $818 mate ?

  • So if you purchase it on Ebay then you cannot claim Oppo pad air as Ebay is not listed in Participating Retailer list, will that be correct to say?

    • Mobileciti is mobileciti even if its their ebay store as the invoice you will get is from mobileciti for example.

      • +1

Thats correct but I'm talking abt most other ebay stores e.g. above $818 ebay deal which is by 'Sydneytec' or some other australian stores which are not listed in the Participating Retailer list

        • Participating stores only.

Participating Retailer means JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks, Big W, The Good Guys, Bing Lee, Amazon, Kogan, Catch, MobileCiti, Woolworths Mobile, Yes Distribution, Telstra, TPG Telecom (Vodafone Australia), Wireless1 and OPPO e-Store.

  • Wow, JB Hi-Fi listing for the black colour now ran out of stock. Just white left only and delivery only.

  • -1

Just ordered off ebay here for $802 with voucher
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/394016540018

    • great price. sydneymobiles might not be legit for claiming the Pad air though

"Participating Retailer means JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks, Big W, The Good Guys, Bing Lee, Amazon, Kogan, Catch, MobileCiti, Woolworths Mobile, Yes Distribution, Telstra, TPG Telecom (Vodafone Australia), Wireless1 and OPPO e-Store"

    • It came to $787.41 or forty something for me Decisions Decisions eBay plus

    • +7

      That’s the Oppo x5 not x5 pro

      • Ah crappola, any real difference!?

      • Thanks for pointing that out

      • Snapdragon 888 for x5 and 8 gen 1 for the x5 pro.

    • Can JB or OW price match it?

  • +1

It seems JB, TGG and OW are all out of stock now!

  • Just got an approval for the bonus Oppo Pad Air, they send you a link to purchase off their website with the code redemption. Cool stuff.

  • The redemption link they sent me for the Oppo Pad Air says they are sold out.

    WTF!

    • In the same boat here

      • +1

Try again. Someone mage to order the pad today. See below comments.

    • +1

Just went to the Oppo general australian shop and was able to add the Pad to the checkout basket without any issues.

So maybe a temporary technical issue limiting people using the personalised claim links.

    • Just tried and me too!! Sold out!!!!

      • Try again. Someone manage to get it today.

    • That's not good, I went and redeem straight away as soon as the approval email came through, what time you got your emails?

      • Around 3pm yesterday, but only tried the link around 8pm.

        • Ouch, sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can sort it out with Oppo.

    • +2

Tried again this morning and now showing stock.

      Order went through OK 😊

      • Do you mean you managed to redeem the Pad Air?

  • +1

I am still waiting for the link as well. Let's hope they fix up the issue soon and they honor what they advertised. Otherwise, I think it would be misleading and deceptive conduct for both Oppo and JB Hifi.

    https://www.accc.gov.au/publications/advertising-and-selling…

    • From the oppo T&C:
“OPPO may cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this promotional offer at any time if all Gift(s) have been claimed.”

Perhaps they have all been claimed

      • +1

In the event where Oppo/Retailer, cannot honor the "Bonus" Oppo Pad Air offer 2022 (which is still currently being advertised in most retailers). Correct me if i'm wrong but this is still deceptive conduct regardless of what the T&C in the later says. As a consumer, you were lured to make a purchase decision with the intention that the offer will be honored. As quoted on JB-Hifi site as of 24/11/2022 8:00pm. "Buy now and get a bonus OPPO Pad Air and Flip cover after purchase!". It doesn't have any limited quantity advertising, even if it does. It will still be considered Bait advertising which is also against consumer law (Section 35)

"Bait advertising can be a legitimate form of advertising. However, it is illegal to engage in this conduct where goods or services are advertised for sale at a discounted price, and they are not available in reasonable quantities and for a reasonable period at that price."

        More details: https://www.accc.gov.au/publications/advertising-and-selling…

You could also read up on Competition and Consumer Act 2010 - Section 32 (2) - Offering rebates, gifts and prizes.

        Details: https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/C2013C00620/Html/Volu…

So overall, the T&C as stated by Oppo for claim submission is in a grey area and is very much open for dispute as it involves breaching so many sections of the consumer laws if they were not to honor the deal. It will also be a big publicity drag on the Oppo brand and all the big retailers involved in this deal as you would expect many people will complain about it.

In the meantime, For those who did make the purchase (including myself) I'm just hoping that Oppo honors this deal otherwise I may need to take this up with the ACCC for further clarity.

    • Try again. Someone manage to order today.

  • Got the email and ordered, no fuss and hassle free. Don't need to panic guys. All is sweet. Just waiting for them to post and get the item now pretty much. fingers crossed

  • Oh the Pad Air promotion is only for purchases up to 24th of November :(

    • Yes. You can claim till dec 8. But the x5 or x5 pro should have been purchased no later that nov 24.

      • Mostly sold out everywhere.

  • I was able to complete my order today. Email says preparing order will be notified once shipped. Have a feeling ill be waiting a while….

  • Made the Pad claim yesterday. Still being reviewed

    • Just received the link to order for AUD0.0$

  • +2
