I am new to torches/flashlights and missed out on the last deal that they had. Was looking for the SC31 Pro as my first torch.

Vivi (store rep) from the Sofirn Torch AU group on Facebook shared these deals.

  • Always a high value torch. Lantern still one of the best you can buy. Shame about the 6500k LEDs.

Shame there is no LT1s code

    • Yeah, I looked at the difference for the SC31 Pro 5000k vs 6500k and I would prefer the 5k but it's not an option for amazon, I know that Aliexpress has that version as an option. But I think I need to use the 6500 if I like it or not or even be amazed since it's upgrade from those cheap torches.

      • Keep in mind the 5000k SC31 doesn't use the Anduril firmware so you're sacrificing that for the colour temperature. Based on some initial research it seems like the 6500k variant is more consistent as far as colour goes, whereas the 5000k can tend to green on lower outputs, tending towards white the higher you go.

Personally I'd stick with the 6500k purely for the Anduril firmware.

The 5000k does use Anduril. I have the first version.

S36Pro with coupon is around $76 not $65

    • fixed it.

      • Still shows $65 in the description and $76.49 at checkout with the code.

        Edit: Now fixed. Thanks OP

    • S36Pro…
Batteries ‎3 Lithium Ion batteries required. (included)
      Batteries Included? ‎Yes
      Batteries Required? ‎Yes
I think they are included but I'm not sure now…

      • Does the torch require batteries - yes
Does it come with batteries- yes

        Pretty simple to understand

        • +2

All I'm saying it's a little unclear as often when listings say "Batteries Required: Yes" it means you need to supply your own batteries and they are not included with the product… I think all they needed to say is the following:

          • ‎3 Lithium Ion batteries (included)

            @Jonc: Yeh fair call mate

  • they could do better with the font on their own name

  • Which torch is best?

    • +1

Depends what you need. I have a SC31, SC21, IF22A, SP35 BLF and LT1. The SC31 gets the most use.

      • SP35 is probably the best impulse buy.

      • SC31 pro if you're happy to learn a more complex UI (Anduril) - you'd be amazed at the functionality that can be provided through one button.

      • I have a Wurkkos FC11 which looks very similar to the SC31. Are they pretty much equivalent?

Looking for a powerful light, would SP36 be next best choice?

        • Yep, otherwise might think about the Q8.

  • Kinda shit discount imo for BLECK fleece day.

  • I'm after a tail switch torch, and it looks like the SC31Pro has a side switch?

Is there a Sofirn with a tail switch for around $40, or would the Wuben C3 ($32) be a good alternative for a tail switch torch?

    • +2

SC31T has a tail and side switch.

      SC32 has a tail switch.

      • Thanks ;)

  • Sofirn SC21… Item weight 126 Pounds

Good lord, I can't even lift that cannon!

  • Looking for a bright compact torch to keep in the car for emergencies (something much brighter than a phone LED). Anyone knows how long a charge last in SC31 with minimal to no use? For example can I get at least 10~15 minutes of use at or near max brightness 6 months after charging ?

    • Every 3 piece torch (head, body, tail) allows you to slightly loosen the head portion (like half a turn) to detach its connection with the body, and thus there will be zero current draw from the battery while it's inside the torch. Same with the SC31. However, 18650 battery inside does and will self-discharge slowly over time, though very slowly. After about 6 months, it should still have about 80% charge in most cases. So yeah, it will be fine for emergency use.

      • How does an 18650 enjoy a hot car?

        • Good enough for Tesla to use them in their cars.

        • I assume it'll be stored inside a glove box or door pocket where it doesn't get direct sunlight and thus stay well within safe temp (<90c) for an idle battery. But yeah, no guarantees ofc. Could go peace-of-mind route and get an AA powered torch and just use Eneloops. e.g. https://www.amazon.com.au/Flashlight-Pocket-Sized-LUMINTOP-R… (I have one and it's a great EDC)

Yeah it will be kept in a glove box, the car is mostly parked under cover (at home and at work), so not going to get a lot of heat every day.

No biggie, I have the phone as a backup. Just that I had a cheap LED torch few years ago and found it useful few times, but I’ve been managing with the phone since it broke a while back.

      • Thanks, makes sense. Got one.

    • I'd never leave battery like this in the car. They're a fire hazard in case you do happen to leave it in the sun one day. Would be easy to forget, and you'll only be keeping it at storage charge anyway (unless you're going to charge it before an emergency).

I looked at this too and there are better options imo. Check the flashlight forums for more info from nerds who know.

  • SP36Pro - 15% discount + XFRQOYP. Its now $62.99

    • Thanks, they finally updated the price.

  • Does any know any good black Friday deals for headlamps?

  • Anyone able to enter the codes? I'm getting "The code you entered is not valid."
