I was previously advised in this thread (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/735562) to wait for a better deal on the 2740DW/2750DW to get the auto-feed duplexing scanner feature.

Lo-and-behold, Officeworks appear to have dropped the price by about $100 last night. Doesn't appear to be a catalogue deal, but by chance I found it at this price when I was at officeworks. No 'special' price tags or anything indicating its for a limited time only but I'm not sure. The nearest price I could find was $280 delivered or thereabouts.

I've got an older Brother wireless mono laser that performs flawlessly. No connection issues. Fast and high quality printing.

  If I don't scan much but print sometimes, is this a good printer? How does this compare to the colour ones for around $40 more on ozbargain? If I don't need colour is this one just as good?

  Great supplement to an inkjet if you have kids or need to print for business. Use the inkjet occasionally so it doesn't clog, and when you actually need colour. Use something like this for everything else with good after market toners.

  It's a pity because I use to have a good photo printer but the printer companies gouging on ink have made them impractical and CISS/bulk ink just became too much of a hassle, especially once companies started artificially limiting the lifespan of their devices with ink counters. Even the Epson Inktanks seem to do that.

    Damn, I got the same "Unfortunately this item is currently out of stock! Please remove or replace item to continue" message.

    Great price, lots of good posts here about it, and I was needing a scanner with ADF. Being a laser printer as well was a bonus.

    I hope if I keep trying that they'll get stock again at this price.

  Not bad. Looking to replace the best printer I've ever owned, my Epson WF-3530. I do a ton of scanning, some printing in colour, and a fair amount of printing in greyscale for a small business/study. I'd heard the new printers carry ink tanks so thought it might be worth checking them out during the BF sales. My current project is converting our family documents and photos to digital, some date back 400 years so it's an ongoing struggle, hoping it may also help there.

  Anyone have any good recommendations for a good multi-printer they may have seen during the sales?
