Been on the lookout for a dehumidifier and have heard that Ausclimate and Ionmax are 2 good brands. Wanted one mainly for drying laundry and this one has a dedicated laundry mode. This is a compressor type dehumifider.

  • There are 2 types of dehumidifier, one better than the other depending on your climate.

This is a condenser type dehumidifier.

    • Is this desiccant or compressor?

      • compressor, it uses a refrigerant.

      • I've updated the description to include the type.

  • +1

I purchased a dehumidifier recently, from what i have read, if you're expecting it to be significantly under about 20 degrees you're better off with a dessicant model.

The dessicants are generally more portable (lighter) and quieter than the compressor models. They are significantly more expensive (10L/day dessicant vs 10L/day compressor) and more expensive to run.

    • Did you end up going with a desiccant humidifer? does it output much heat?

    • Hi, how much more expensive is the running costs for the dessicant version? Double?
