Pretty okay for a starting m43's cam, not the lowest it's been but deals don't seem to happen often so might be worth a shot πŸ˜‰

As it's body only, what lens should a beginner buy for this camera?

      Panasonic Lumix G 25mm F1.7 ASPH for $150-$200

Or any one of the cheap but good only/ pan 17mm/20mm/25mm

Have a look at the Olympus 45mm portrait lens. Sharp and good Bokeh.

I have a LUMIX it’s a good camera and the 45mm lens is great but right now the whole market is in upheaval, not sure how it would affect these above models as they single out P&S in the below link and mirror less video is still sought after for vlogging. Still worth a read

    • thanks for the share! didn't know about this, good context

I think to balance that article it depends what you want from your camera, if you want to kit up with a few lenses and then park for 5 years it would be fine, if you want to start out with a body and lens and expand over time one lens a year will there be new lenses around later, probably but maybe not? On the other hand i have bought a few 2nd hand Fuji lenses for my other body and they are great so the 2nd hand market is still good for some time to come ( i assume the Panasonic 2nd hand lens market is good, and i have a couple of Olympus lenses on my Panasonic as well).

I moved away from Panasonic after 4 years to Fuji X rangefinder style for weight during travel and i like the way they shoot and so I use the Panasonic less now but never been unhappy with it overall, just looking for new challenges and a lighter body to travel with.

        • cool, which pana body did you have?

          • @confidantduk: G7 14-140
            Oly 45mm
Oly kit lens as well, hardly used that.
I started with an OMD em5 which does so I went Panay as the lenses work on either.

Not related to G100, wondering if buying the G9 is still worth it now? Cheers

    • Just bought a second hand one here in NZ. I can't wait. I have a G100 and S5 too. Just sold the G85 so could get the G9 for future travel photography alongside the G100 and GX850. Great cameras and suitable lenses and you'll take better photos than most other enthusiasts.
