Ray-Ban Wayfarer - Help Identify Model

Hi all, about 12 years ago I finally found a pair of Wayfarers I liked. Anyway, I (Child) have lost them. I enquired a few years ago about getting a second pair and the shop said they no longer make them, I think they were fobbing me off.

Anyway, I don't have a model number, but I can somewhat describe them. They were a Wayfarer, Black, Chunky as in very solid/heavy and the lenses were angled back. They were a largish frame as well.

Any ideas?

PS: I contacted Sunglass Hut and they couldn't help as about 4 years after I got them, the arm broke and I purchased another pair at 1/2 price under a warranty type thing they had at the time.

Thanks.

Sounds like the "Original Wayfarer Classic". Larger thickish frames with the pantoscopic tilt

  • The rb2140 looks like them, but I'm positive they did not have the silver accents on the frame.

    • Are you sure they weren't knockoffs? I've never seen Ray Ban Wayfarers without the metal accents. Its like a feature of Wayfarers to have them…

      • they were from Sunglass Hut and the second pair was from Ray Ban themselves.

        • Could it be that they weren't actually Wayfarers but a Wayfarer style like the RB4165 or RB4181?

  • RB2151 Wayfarer Square is the model/number.
    Apparently no longer in production
