If you have digital version, then just wait for sale
@fuzor: Have to wait 5x to 10x longer than everyone else if you wait for equivalent discounts to physical. Digital edition users will just pay more for less overall
Actually, the PS Store does come out with some genuine bargains that beats disk versions of the games. Unfortunately just not enough bargains for the new console and it is more appropriate for the PS4. Give it a few more years but probably by then the digital console would have been discontinued.
New games are always cheaper physically, but older games can get cheaper digitally.

Particularly if you’re open to buying pre-owned games, then there’s no contest.

Yes it is worth it. PS store overcharges for games, so almost always cheaper to buy physical games.
cause u can resell physical games, you need to install full games straight onto harddrive for every game for digital
You have to install every game onto the HDD even if you have the disk on PS5.
You can delete the game after you finish it.
Your view (shared with a lot of members) appears to be that cheaper = better. This is not the case for a lot of products.

It's not what it seems. The $1000 price was from the third party reseller's listing. Now they Amazon AU have stock, their own listing is now the cheapest.
It's not Amazon making up a fake RRP.
Eg. See Xbox Series X. Cheapest right now is $1000+.
That is not clear from the advertisement. You may get into an argument about what is amazon or not - they are advertising "was $1000" which is clearly not true. Was $690 from someone else…

Still an issue and could still be fake as the sold price can be manipulated by 3rd party easily.
You can pay $680 for disc version at jb with 15% gc's. Just saying.

This has been available for most of the day, which makes me think Sony has been stockpiling them, driving up demand so they can make bank for the Christmas season and then dumping their load for Black Friday.
"PlayStation 5 for rrp" No deal and stock is pretty consistent now. The last 3 times I have walked into a JB i have heard people asking if they have PS5s in stock and the answer has always been yes.

Returnal is excellent if you're up for a challenge. Demon's Souls remake is fantastic. Ratchet and Clank is very pretty and quite fun. God of War is good and runs beautifully on a 120hz display (as it should for a cross platform title), but yes, you can pleb it up at 30fps on PS4.
We should have more good titles that aren't cross-platform with PS4 by now though, for sure.

To be honest looks likes nothing that appeals to me, I bought gt7 and ratchet and clank. That gta 6 leak gave us a hint of true next gen gameplay.

After the xbox 360 I decided against buying console hardware from Microsoft. On top of that, my home entertainment electronics are now all Sony, gonna keep it within the family. And Final Fantasy is ps5 exclusive

I picked up one from JB Hifi Macquarie for $799 using TCN cards. The actual cost was $680. But, best part is, they gave $50 back at the Concierge as a promotion. So, final cost is $630. ( forgot to use the perks coupon)
The better deal is for those grabbed 19% BigW cards and used jb-hifi perks. It would have been $588.
