  • I bought one of these few years ago but decided to upgrade to Braun series 9. Had to return the Braun because it could not get my neck hair right, lucky Braun had the satisfied or return promotion running.

I just bought the set one from Shavershop eBay listing ($125) with my $80 voucher an hour ago, so essentially I paid $45 or $50(if you minus the $4.99 annual sign up from the voucher). I also done it with the Shopback upsized cashback + $5 bonus for $50 spend. Had to add another item to make it ~$135 so I can qualify for the bonus. Not sure if it will be approved but we'll see.

      5d chess

    • Aren't you a clever dick !

  • Love the lasts 4 months bit. It is missing the important bit i.e based on 2 full shaves per week.

    • I just copied that from my earlier deal. I don't think it's right, as the blade replacements state 8 months and many users are reporting years on here. Maybe they are just trying not to pee people off like some companies that overestimate their lifespan. Possibly there might be some difference in recent releases (IDK).

      • They have 4 months on the little package the blades come in.

In my experience so far, I get about 2 months before the cut quality really suffers shaving every other day. Could probably press on for longer, but the shave takes longer going over multiple times.
        YMMV

  • Has anyone tried the Xiaomi trimmer at a similar price? It's $55 right now

It doesn’t look anything like OneBlade.

Be aware the head is around the size of a manual razor. Not a bad thing, just be aware when comparing with other products

bought one recently but through shaver shop with hard case, docking base and a few other goodies for $159. https://www.philips.com.au/c-p/QP6650_60/oneblade-pro-face-p…

very happy with my purchase so far, coming from a phillips bodygroom 7000 series

    • Same here! I found a $10 off voucher so was pretty happy with $149.

I've been using Philips for most of my adult life and though it'd be nice if the shaver head was larger I am pretty impressed how versatile the little thing is.

And quiet. And the travel case/dock is great quality.

      • I wish they had stock of this on their ebay store, would've probably bought it, don't mind paying the extra for the case and docking.

      • Do you have a link ? I can't seem to find it in the website.

  • Anyone know how close of a shave this is compared to wet shaving? Looking for an alternative for when I'm too lazy to wet shave

    • It's not a close shave. I find electric shavers better. These are great if you haven't shaved for a few days and want to tidy up.

      • +1

        Isn't this an electric shaver?

    • +3

I have one and I don't do anything else. Won't be as smooth as a wet shave but I think it is a perfectly adequate replacement when lazy. Which for me is always.

    • +3

idk what people at saying, this is about as close to a shave compared to an actual razor you'll get. I was seriously impressed

      • Yeah seriously, if you use the top or bottom edge only its not that close, but if you press the blade flat its incredibly close, equivalent to my multi-head circular shaver which is significantly slower and more cumbersome to clean.

      • I can only guess that it will differ from person to person. No matter how many times I do an area using both top and bottom edge and also holding skin tight. Face still feels rough compared to if it was a close shave like a razor blade would. It's also not as close as my Braun Series 5 shaver would do.

Not a complaint as it's brilliant for shaving before a shave if one has a few days bristle.Quick and easy. It is also fine as your only shaver if you are not looking for a very close shave. Pity the replacement heads are so expensive.

    • What are you thinking of? These are electric…

  • This or Philips New OneBlade Pro Face and Body Shaver Trimmer QP6550/15 for $119.99?

    • +1

That's the one I bought from eBay. So the difference is the one OP linked runs for 90 mins with 12 lengthcomb ranging from 0.5mm-0.9mm while the one you mention has a runtime of 120 mins with 14 lengthcomb ranging from 0.4mm-1.0mm

So it really depends if you don't mind paying the extra for longer runtime.

      • Thanks. Price wise looks ok not far from being the lowest as per CCC.

        • Also judging by the image they have different battery display.

        • +1

Yeah I went for this one earlier today, good to have the different attachments and battery life for the extra cost. Was looking at Wahl also but just so many positive reviews for the One Blade online. Numerical battery display is handy also.

      • Don’t you mean 0.5 - 9.0mm?

    • I went for the Face and Body trimmer

I bought replacement blades from Kogan, big mistake! Gotta be fake, so freakin bad! Pulling my hair, not even my 8 month old blade did that!

I have the non pro version? Lasts forever, I rarely charge it and it cost me like $40-$50 years ago.

I use it to shave before I shave and makes life easy!

    • +2

Yep, i've got the original one and had it for 5+ years. Lasts so long on a single charge - like months! Life changer for me - use to hate shaving but now its a breeze.

  • +4

Four years on original blade and going strong!

    • How?!
I think they've started to make the blade from softer metal or something as there's no way my original bought start of this year was lasting longer that 6 months, and the replacements are worse.

      • +1

I use it daily. Face, hairline, balls, chest. Works as good as new.

        • +1

Straight from balls to face in one shave?

        • Looks well worn i.e. Indicator
This patch is indicated by arrows on the side. Once this patch is completely green, it is a signal for you to get a new blade.

          • @Borg: Yeah, it looks cooked. But I guess, if it still does the job, why change?

  • +2

ive got the original version. absolute weapon and gets a kinda close shave. zero irritation. Really good for edging a beard too. changed the blade once in a couple years.

    • Same I've had mine like 6, 7 years? I forgot how old the product is now. I'm slowly starting to consider getting a new one, not because the shaver has diminished.. just I have a UK model and it's the adapter that has started to break.

Great shaver. I just hope the new version compares.

  • Has anyone used these for body trimming not just face? Wondering if I could use it for both.

    • +1

Without the guide it'll nip any 'hanging' skin or if you hit it at the wrong angle.

    • +1

Buy this if you want to do body trimming, considering it includes a blade, it's inexpensive.

    • its pretty small.
