Whilst manufacturer warranty states only 1 year, you can easily claim several years of additional repairs under warranty simply by mentioning ACL to LG.

    • Yes similar to statutory warranty with Samsung after 8 years they will still warrant the tv

    • Learned something new today… so ACL how long?

      • Various with the expected durability and amount paid. With this costing so much you'd expect at least 8 years. It's a grey area and can be ruled by Fair Trading on a case by case basis. However if you know your rights, it's easy to mention ACL when the manufacturer brushes you off. They know your rights and what precedents have been set, and that no matter whatever limited warranty period they claim, it does not invalidate your implied warranty under ACL.

        • Noted. So how about $1k-$2k tv then? 2-3yrs?

          • @thomalfa: $2k for an OLED is still a premium, and LG have honoured repairs under ACL for 5+ years. The technology itself was new and had inherent flaws like burn in. Given it had only been around for 5 years expect this period to extend. There's also how much it's been used, in the menu showing total hours. So pretty easy to argue that it should be repaired seeing it cost a premium and proved to not be durable, breaking after only 1000 hours of use. The counter however may count when the TV has the screen off for BT music playback, which could remain in that state for a long time as it's easy to go unnoticed as actually being powered on.

Lol @ the one year warranty. If you claim warranty in 5 years, they will have to honour it under Australian consumer law. Don't let manufacturers bs tell you otherwise.

    • How, what, where? waste of money to get the extra 4yr warranty then?

    • Limited to brand or any tv practically?

  • Delivery kills it

    • Cheaper delivered elsewhere?

  • Just got it for $6500 delivered from The Good Guys. All you have to do is ask.
