I'm hoping the 32 inch 4k model drops in price.

Paid $349 for mine from Mwave last year. It's a good gaming monitor but uses BGR subpixels so the text can look a bit crap in Windows.

    • Same, it's actually been really good honestly.
I use the KVM feature daily and it works really well.

    • I am typing on this right now. Have had the monitor for more than a year. Either I am ignorant or the BGR pixel layout does not bother me one single bit. And the KVM feature is alright, I use it from time to time and works as advertised.

      • i got the 34 version (flat screen) and have no issues with the BGR… KVM works great but gotta be careful not to plug in something that draws too much power as it will drop your connection every now and then. All my other mech keyboards are fine but when i plugged in Razer Blackwidow it had intermittent connection issues.

Data was not an issue as I had USB headset, Full Frame camera used as a webcam and USB soundcard all connected with no issues.

I gave this monitor to my partner after upgrading to the AW38.

        • I've had the connection issues with my Akko 3068 plugged into the KVM. It happens when I first boot up the computer, need to unplug and re-plug to get it working again. Started happening after I modded the keyboard with leds, it was fine before that.

          • @yippy: I reckon its the same thing as the BW…the leds are using too much power…

Hrm this has been on my wishlist for a while, but text readability for work on the same monitor is probably more important to me than gaming these days. Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to do more research.

  • Showing $479 for me now.

  • The motion pursuit photography in the linked review very clearly shows this not a great fast refresh monitor, and the BGR sub-pixel arrangement makes this a productivity no-go without some serious work put in.

RTings' response time measurement methods are dated and give out favourable results to IPS panels for transitions returning to black. These missed measurements account for the 'powdered trailing' that is often described while using such panels.

That being said, in this case the panel issue is when leaving from black (0), resulting in only 79% of transitions falling inside the refresh window, as seen in this review. This result might have been more acceptable in say 2018, but we've moved on, and the ideal response time result is actually all times coming in at half that of the refresh cycle, not the same.

When all three are tuned correctly, IPS is the worst for motion response overall for any given set of conditions, which makes it important to ensure the panel is highly responsive for the refresh rate target.

TLDR: read the fine print on this one, literally and figuratively.

  • showing $399 again.

I know it isn't listed as such, but i might take a gamble and hope it's actually a M27Q-P revised model that fixes the BGR subpixel issue.

  • I’m waiting for M27Q X to be released which is not only RGB but also 240Hz.

    • When is this meant to be? I thought it was out early this year but never made it to AUS?

  • This looks like it has similar specs to the Dell S2721DGF, which was selling around this price 6 months ago and I have been impatiently waiting to drop back to that price since

    • +1

The S2721DGF was originally released in 2020, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's due for a refresh, and that remaining stock is probably low enough that they can't justify putting it on deep discount anymore. For context, it's sibling the LG 27GN850 (the Dell uses the same LG-produced panel) has already been replaced by the 27GP850 over a year ago. It's still an excellent monitor, but sadly I feel its time has come and gone. Hopefully next year sees an S2724DGF or similar.

  • Has anyone tried the solution suggested in the rtings review of inverting the monitor to make it RGB? I'm planning to mount a 27" on a monitor arm (27" is as big as my desk will allow), so rotating the monitor 180 for work, then back again for gaming sounds like an easy fix, especially as it saves me getting a separate KVM.

I’ve had this monitor for over a year and I hate it to the point where I’m considering making an ACL claim. Text is blurry as shit. Blacks are terrible due to excessive bleed (I’ve had and have other IPS monitors, none have been this bad). Etc. It’s just nicely marketed nonsense. The KVM would be useful if the monitor didn’t take 20 seconds to change displays/turn on - and it doesn’t play nice with some devices. It’s such a gimmick because the rest of the monitor does not support productivity at all.
AND THE STUPID SLEEP MODE LED BLINKS INCESSANTLY (I’ve never covered something with electrical take so fast).
After this, I swore to never buy gigabyte again.

I would not recommend it to a friend or to a fellow bargain hunter. I bought mine around this price and shame on them for not dropping it further after all this time and for such a crap product.
    Rant over <3

    • I use it for work, no issues with text.

Bit of an overreaction on your part, and the KVM switch happens in 5 seconds and works on both macs and windows pcs that i’ve used with no issues.

Lucky you then! More power to you fellow bargainer, but I don’t think I’m overreacting :)

Please can you post a photo of the blurry text, what cables are you using HDMI or display port?

      • +2

Have gone through all the troubleshooting over many months - have tried hdmi, dp, usb c with a variety of quality and cheap cables. It’s the BGR, and perhaps I’m affected more by it for whatever personal reason shrug - nonetheless I would’ve expected this to have been stated more clearly, especially when the audience includes those that want to use it for productivity.
