Help me out… What's the catch? Can we shut it down after 60 days? Apply for another 12 months later?

Don't bother if you are self employed and don't want to give up all your tax documents to prove a poultry wage of $25k.

I gave them asset valuations and a screen shot of my current bank account balances(more than they asked for) and they still wanted my tax documents. I could have just made up pay slips and they would never have checked, but I choose not to deal with companies like this. I requested they cancel and delete my application and confirm in writing of same.

I am guessing they are required to do this by law? All the ccs I applied for were the same being sole trader

Yep, responsible lending under the NCCP.
Essentially the onus is on the credit provider to fully assess an applicant's financial position prior to offering any credit facility. As with most laws, it's quite vague as to the depth of validation required, so most shops just require everything to cover themselves in case of audits or hardship claims.
Failure to comply results in voiding contracts/large fines/loss of credit license, and just about the only time a provider can escape punishment is for outright customer fraud.

As I said, I gave them documented proof of my financial position- just refused to give them my tax information. How often do you think they contact employers to confirm pay slips?? As a small business owner who has employed many people, I can guarantee you I have received 10x as many calls from real estate agents than from Banks.

I have a personal Amex card with a $25k limit and never had to give up my tax info.

I think it had more to do with my financial position- I haven't paid interest on a credit card since the naughties and I'm fairly sure they new I wouldn't be worth their effort…

Any chance of them prorata-ing the annual fee when you cancel?

  • Great offer but Humm/Certegy EziPay are just gross.

Most out-dated tech in the industry and appauling customer service/systems, for churners that thought ANZ was bad - just you wait!

  • Wait is this a credit card I'm a bit confuse.

    • Yes

  • These guys have dodgy application process. Applied last year and 3 different people called me to ask for the same documents (payslip, IDs, bank statements, etc). In the end a fourth person calls and says "you'll have to put in your internet banking ID and password on the website so that we can automatically retrieve your bank statements". This after supplying all the documents to 3 different people who were definitely not based in Australia. Sounded like a call center based in Philippines. Seemed too dodgy and I just withdrew my application after exposing my IDs and bank documents 🤣 Check out reviews on Product Review….a lot of people complaining about the same issue!

  • I got approved within 2 hours of applying. But for those looking to get free international transaction fees while travelling, this deal from commonwealth bank is better with less spend

Except the Commbank card has annual fees unless you spend $10K a year - and there's no rewards on that $10K spend.

      • It has access to rewards program, but not awards program, two different things.

Low fee gold only requires $1k spend to waive annual fee.

  • I had a humm90 credit card and closed it in August this year. Can i apply again?

Has anyone recieved their cashback yet, and how long did it take? About to pay my first statement but yet to receive anything and have spent enough for the top cashback tier.
