  • any other jamo speakers from HifiClearance that goes along with the above?

  • +3

Bought this last time it was posted
It's an absolute steal at this price, great sound
However I've had problems with connections with both HDMI ARC and optical - sometimes doesn't turn on with the TV, sometimes just randomly turns off and won't turn back on unless you unplug power cable.
I think a firmware update resolves it but no instructions anywhere on how to update it, no LCD screen so probably some specific button combo

Also the remote is absolutely hopeless, intermittently worked to start with and now doesn't work at all

any others speakers that goes along with this?

      • it's a standalone soundbar

    • +2

Doesn’t seem to be that great with all those issues. I have a Sony 2.1 sound bar from many years ago, bought for under $150 or so, but doesn’t have any problems with the above.

      • Depends on a few factors though, maybe it's not the soundbar and my TV just doesn't like it (LG SM8100)

      • The link there is for RSB-6, are they are same thing?

        • +1

          As per the site:

Please Note: This is the same process and file as the RSB-6 firmware update.

      • +2

Awesome that process worked perfectly! However not with that RSB-6 file, with this Jamo SB-40 file

        • Did it fix the issues tho?

          • +1

@Jackson: bit early to tell but to be clear any issues I've had are infrequent enough to not be a deal breaker. And they may not even occur with another person's AV setup

  • Any reviews? Pictures shows 2x US plug, anyone know if that’s true…

    Is this any good ?

I'll take items I didn't need but still bought for 150 thanks Alex

    • Haha, same here!

  • Missed this :(

Part of the Amazon description says, "Note that the ATS-2090 and the YAS-209 are the same product with a different model code. "

        • oh i read it is a replacement. The JBL has pretty good reviews and is cheaper.

    • The same seller has some Klipsch R-4B soundbars with subwoofer on sale for $149 delivered. These are manufacture refurbished and not brand new, though they are giving a 6 month warranty.

This has arrived. It's like stepping back in time to the 90s with the silver colouring. Thankfully the material on the front of the soundbar itself looks ok.

It's taller than I thought it would be so I have had to raise the TV so that it doesn't block part of the screen.

The subwoofer being wireless I can at least hide it from sight.

Haven't really had a listen yet. Pro tip: you need to enable HDMI CEC manually by holding down the source select and volume down buttons together for three seconds. After this it has been working fine and powering on when the TV is turned on. Thankfully also means that you don't need to use the astonishingly crao remote control! Can't believe how cheap and tiny it is for a unit with the original RRP this had.

I will also be updating the FW.

  • How do you register online for warranty? link provided is broken

  • Had a bit more of a listen and am impressed with how it sounds which is good because I'm not impressed with how it looks.

I couldn't manage to get the firmware update to process, followed the steps posted avove and nothing. I was using a 32GB USB stick.

Sounds excellent to me for this price.
      Love the bass.

      • +1

It's so much better than the TV I have it connected to (a Samsung Q70B). For this price it's ridiculously good. Were you able to get the firmware updated?

        • No, haven't tried updating the firmware.
Is it needed to be updated?

          • @congo: Just from reading above, though I have not had any issues like @Raynes has as yet. I have not used it heavily. As above still very impressed with the audio. Better clarity on voice compared to a pair of Edifier 1280DB which is what I had connected up previously but often didn't use due to having to use the tiny easy to lose Edifier remote to control the volume. With HDMI-CEC on this sound bar can just use the TV remote which is much more convenient.
