65Wh???? For $2400 with an Intel H chip, bye bye battery life.

    • +3

Yeah mate 65Wh and fun fact most people prioritise performance over battery life in a gaming laptop because its a heavy ass gaming laptop and not something most of us would take to work or school daily certainly without a charger to go. Gaming laptops runs terrible on battery anyways and its a glorified ups to began with. You can have gaming laptop with better battery life but you would sacrafice performance for it, cant have both.

I know, just pointing out for the folks who use their laptop for more than just gaming.

        • Fair enough. The gp66 does cut down on some stuff from the ge lineup to reduce cost. One of these is battery from 99wh to 65wh. Not that you would see much better battery life on the ge, probably an hour more in real usage as both have intel chips in them.

great deal worth it. good specs for the price. well ranked gaming machine. yeah, battery is negligible but doesnt matter, may consider it. Thanks. OP.

Also confirmed laptop has an MUX switch installed.

Decided to bite the bullet and buy it as its a very well reviewed model. Spec is great for the price.

Personally I never game without having a laptop plugged in so battery issue wont affect me.

Honestly good value if you’re looking out for a higher performing machine. This outperforms the Legion 5i Pro with equivalent specs. Great option if you do not mind the terrible battery life of an Intel gaming laptop.

One of the best deals for a 3070ti rig right now, given best 12700H/3070ti G15 was 2199$ and no legion 3070ti deals are below 2.5 grand.

While one may point out the Legion 5i/5i pro would have more ports (the GP is a cut down version of the GE with less rgb, io, ddr4 and worse stock paste) with a larger brighter & screen, these high end MSI lineups have one trick up their sleeve - msi overboost - in which the machine bypasses nvidias dynamic boost wattage lock and enables the full 150w 3070ti at all times ignoring the cpu load, whereas with legion or any other machine you are only guaranteed 125w for max powered 3070tis.

      DDR4?

      • +2

My apologies, I was still under the impression that they had DDR4 ram from early reviews of the 12th gen models, a second look on the MSI website showed me that the later skus come with DDR5, which is what this listing have.

        • +1

Haha had me worried then. Scrambled to double check the listing.

  • Would this be a better deal than the Lenovo cyber Monday offers when you take into account cashrewards and Lenovo rewards, need to buy my son his first gaming laptop and I have no idea.

    • Probably not if you're looking for gaming performance per dollar. Lenovo's selection right now isn't really that great compared to their sales one-off sales in the last few months for a 3070ti legion. When there were 2022 3070ti legions on sale they went for around over 2500 with cashrewards, never really dropping below 2899 for the equivalent model.

  • Thx what would you recommend for a first gaming laptop?

    • What is your budget?
I personally think this is one of the best deals for the specs. This laptop also has good reviews and feedbacks.
If your budget is around $1000 mark, then clearly this is not ur option.

      • This would be absolute max, I was going to buy a lower spec asus from jb but sold out, it was only 1050. I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of looking at specs!

      • +1

You can get this lenovo deal. Use the code SNSNOV to bring the price down to $999 + $7 delivery.
It is a bargain, less than $1000 and RTX 3050.

        • Thx will have a look at the local store and will way up against the acre nitro 5 that was posted this evening
