This Raspberry Pi is a bit expensive 😂

    • This raspberry pi comes with the extra toppings: case, touch keyboard, trackpad, battery, touch screen and ssd.

    Install Linux… Use as a tablet… Win?

Apparently the memory is upgradeable… if not, it would literally be e-waste…

    • All the other flex 5 have had soldered RAM

      • i watched a youtube video with some dude taking it apart, looked just like normal dimms

Disclaimer: 4GB is not enough for 2022.

We are talking about 2022 for goodness sake, 4GB was enough around 10 years ago and even then people thought 8 was the recommended..

Raspberry Pies don't run Windows 11 so obv apples and oranges

  • +1

    What a waste of resources…

Yeh 4gb isn't going to cut it for windows. Install Linux and run some small docker containers if you are lucky.

  • +2

Ay, ay, ay. 4GB, no thanks … unless you mean garlic bread.

    bruh 4GB

The gift that's also a punishment.

Is Bing Lee even trying during this sales period?

Great Deal for BYOD @ Primary School. It is WAY better than another other, HP, Lenovo Celeron 4020, AMD 3020e $344 laptop deals! This one has FHD (TN), Touch Screen and a respectable 11th Gen Processor. The same laptop is selling at Officeworks for $497.

Or spend the same money (or less) on a refurbished business grade laptop.

Get a lot more bang for your buck, a machine that can handle more abuse than bargain bin consumer models, a machine that's been designed with upgrading and repairing in mind, and a machine that you'll have no problems getting replacement parts for.

I spent < $250 on an ex-fleet Dell Latitude that would outperform this easily (double the RAM, double the storage, double the cores, double the threads, third more cache, higher turbo clock and higher CPU performance despite slightly lower frequency).

  • I was just about to buy this… then I saw this post! :( Are there any others of similar specs/price but with the bigger GB?
This one is actually $359.10 with "cyber10" code plus 10% cashwards cashback til midnight tonight

If you're looking for a similar form factor but better and can live with a refrub, try looking for a refurbished Thinkpad X380 on ebay. Thing folds into tablet, has an integrated stylus in the body and with touch screen and even the lowest spec model will run circles around this.

Got one on ebay a couple of months ago for ~$330, thing is still under an extended Lenovo warranty for about 12 months.

Using something with the specs of the posted laptop in 2022 is just going to be a pain, I'm surprised it even runs Windows 11.

      • X380 is 8th gen. You got lucky there. But yes, for this price a refurb can be great.

  • do you know if those take sim cards ??

    Probably ok for chromeOS flex

    • I think needs min 8g ram

      • Minimum device requirements:
Architecture: Intel or AMD x86-64-bit compatible device
        RAM: 4 GB
        Internal storage: 16 GB
        Bootable from USB drive
BIOS: Full administrator access. You’ll need to boot from the ChromeOS Flex USB installer and make some adjustments in the BIOS if you run into issues.
Processor and graphics: Components made before 2010 might result in a poor experience.
Note: Intel GMA 500, 600, 3600, and 3650 graphics hardware do not meet ChromeOS Flex performance standards.

  • Its only a 2 core so nah, but surprisingly the single core performance is slightly better than a 8350U.
