Unsure about your first qn, but for your second qn, these GCs can only be used for something being charged directly from the Hoyts website/instore. eg. Booking fees online, or candybar/Ben&Jerry in store (those that has B&J integrated).
If you purchased discounted movie vouchers from third party, you cannot use this GC to pay for it.In summary, for max value, OzB style, the approach would be:
- Purchase discounted movie tickets via Shopback and other sources
- Purchase the GCs to pay for Booking Fees, Food and Drinks

Noob question: Do people still buy full-price tickets when heavily discounted tickets are available via many sources like Shopback? Can these gift cards be used to buy those discounted tickets?
