  • Would love to grab two of these for my work setup if you get more in.

How is the colour accuracy on this for people who do design? I'm sure there's an SRGB emulation setting but I'm wondering if the NTSC gamut range of this is too wide out of the box?

    • +1

100% SRGB and I believe emulation mode locks brightness from memory. Read the above review for the same monitor but under a different name.

  • Can anyone confirm that 4K is working at 60hz?

This link is saying that some devices are only connecting at 30hz in 4K mode on HDMI. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Philips-Brilliance-328P6VJEB-3…

Not sure if that is the exact same monitor or not though.

    • Highly likely these only support 4k 60hz over displayport. ive got a 28" version of the same display.

    • Could be a compatibility issue, if you have a minimum HDMI 2.0 output and cable though 4K60 should work fine.

      • +2

By default the HDMI port isn't set to 2.0 (nor is the DP set to 1.4), you have to go into the menus to do that or you'll not get 4k 60hz.

        • Good info.

        • +1

Turns out there's no cable included. My laptop has outputs for HDMI, USB 3.2 Gen 2, and Thunderbolt 4. I don't suppose anyone can advise what cable would be most efficient to buy for this monitor? Apparently it has HDMI, DisplayPort, USB, and VGA connections (I don't know for sure whether the USB connection is meant to be for video data).

          • +1

@Horacio: Only display port 1.4 and hdmi 2.0 is capable of transmitting 4k@60hz.

In your situation best to use the hdmi(I’m assuming you already have a cable) or get a Thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable.

            • @hashtagbargain: Thanks for your reply! No, I need to buy one either way. But I guess HDMi is cheaper, as long as it does the 4k with no problems

          • +1

@Horacio: I don't think it has USB C Thunderbolt, there is another model with slightly different model number that does have that feature.

I've put up another 20 units. The other bulk of the remaining stock has been sold.

    • Did they sell out? I had wishlist notifications on and didn't get a ping…

      • I didnt see it either

      • +1

The deal was never updated unfortunately so no notification.

It looks like 19 more were sold this morning, all gone as of ~40 minutes ago.

        • Boo. thanks for the update Hippo

  • Ordered on the 9th, shipped out this morning.

    • I ordered on the 9th and mine arrived today (still haven't unboxed it).

    • Ordered on 9th for delivery to Melbourne metro, shipped out 12th, delayed and stuck with Australia Post and they're saying wait til 28th Dec

      • Same here , will be delivered on 29 December

Mine came today, really nice condition, no dead pixels. It also came with the USB cable, 2 DP cables and a power cable.

It could have been packed better. The Dell box was good, but the monitor was somewhat loose inside, the front of mine was detaching. It pushed right back in without problems, but some of the clips did break and if I shake/rotate the monitor you can sometimes hear the bits rattling inside.

The monitor itself is pretty good, a banger for the price. Coming from a dual IPS 21.5" 1080p setup is going to take a while to get used too, even with my fairly deep 75cm desk it feels massive and I feel more comfortable leaning back (for now at least). The corners are brighter and the viewing angles could be better, the picture can look washed out on an angle, but it is VA and 31.5". The speakers are pretty bad, typical monitor speakers, but will do in a pinch. I had no problems getting 4K60 through DP or HDMI through my AMD 5600G.

    • Thanks for the feedback. Mine arrived today but are hiding out for Christmas. I have high hopes of being Parent of the Year because of these.

    • You’re lucky to have received cables, others have reported no cables were received with their monitors.

    • Ordered 2. 1 arrived yesterday and waiting for the other one to be delivered. Well packaged and after checking contents, it includes a power cable, hdmi cable and display port cable. Hope the other one includes cables as well.

      • 2nd one just arrived. Includes power cable and 1 display port cable

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

The first of two arrived today. Included HDMI and power which was handy as I can only use this with a HDMI connection.

    Initial observations:
    - The monitor size threw me at first, 32" is larger than I expected, even next to my 34" Ultrawide, but that's a good problem to have.
    - My monitor came well packaged and included power + HDMI which was handy as I'm connecting it via HDMI
    - Unsure why but it didn't want to turn on the first time, took over 60 seconds, I thought it was dead and was about to switch power cables when it randomly powered up. It seems to be responsive since.
    - It was HDMI 1.4 30Hz but I managed to find the HDMI 2.0 60Hz option in the menu, fixed! I may upgrade the HDMI cable to something better later, though I suppose if it's working now, a better cable probably won't add anything (the included one just looks a bit cheap)
    - Mine is manufactured in 2019, I was expecting older so that's a bonus and makes me very happy for the price spent.
    - It seems to put off some heat (there's a hot section on the left side) <— can anyone else confirm that with theirs?

I'll take photos after the 2nd one arrives so people can see my 32-34-32 triple setup as someone asked for that earlier.

    • +2

The review I read had a heatmap photo and it also indicated more heat at left hand side. https://www.notebookcheck.net/fileadmin/Notebooks/Philips/32…

      • Interesting! I can confirm mine has the identical heatmap as that photo.
It should be okay, but my room is the only room in the house without A/C and it's a tiny room so if I feel it too much I'll rotate them into portrait mode.

    • Did yours come with a screw to attach the base?
      I think mine is missing.

      • Havent got mine yet but I think it is meant to have a single screw that has a fold out finger grip so you can tighten it with your fingers, at least according to the review I read.

    • +1

@Click_It There is a switch right beside the where the power plug connects. It is possible the switch was turned off and when you tried to remove the power cable you accidentally turned the switch on.

  • Got mine. Looks good. Not very well cleaned, but I can take care of that. Included DP cable, HDMI cable and power cable. Image quality is good. Not sure why people go on about IPS and VA, my personal monitor is 27" 4K IPS and is great, but this Philips VA looks brighter, maybe better colours and I can't see why anyone would hate using them. Running M1 Macbook Air so unfortunately stuck with 1 monitor, so will stick with the 27" for now as it has USB-C, and give the Philips to a family member.

    • +1

I'm happy with the display too. It doesn't blow me away, doesn't disappoint me, just does the job. My 34" Ultrawide beside it is also VA (though a slightly nicer panel) but the difference isn't big enough to be disappointed.

For the price, how could one complain!

      • Well saved me a bundle as this was near enough is good enough. Was looking to drop $900 for a 4K colour accurate monitor.

But this is near enough and I get to keep a big chunk of those funds.

      • +1

Agreed. It's not a fantastic display, but for the price FHD 24" I got a used 4k 32". Not complaining. Also, I had no problem enabling HDMI 2.0 and getting 4k 60hz from my MBP.

    • Did yours come with a screw to attach the base?
It looks like mine is missing

      • Does the screw hole have a screw size marking next to it? Like M4 or something? That will help you source one if seller doesnt have any spare. I think they are thumb screws with a fold up D-Ring.

        • It doesn’t have the marking for the size

          • @FireRunner: It's a pretty standard size I think. I didn't pay too close attention, but it seemed like an m5 or m6. Something that will cost you 25c at Bunnings and an hour to find.

  • Mine arrived this afternoon, ordered Monday regular post (Im in northern NSW). All looks good so far and well packaged, although I can only run it at 1080p due to my potato PC at present (might try hooking it up to Xbox One X later to test out 4K. Came with DP cable and power cable. April 2019 build date which is pretty good.

  • I've had a change of heart on these screens. There's nothing wrong with them but it just doesn't suit my hardware (I run multiple PCs via a KVM with DisplayPort which only supports 1 monitor, to get all monitors working on all Pcs I'd need to upgrade the KVM which is almost the cost of one super ultra wide monitor so it makes more sense to ditch this plan and just buy one large monitor instead…)

So I'll repurpose 1 and sell/return the yet-to-be-delivered and unopened one.

  • Received the monitor, packed in dell box and monitor in great condition, no scratch and no dead pixel on the monitor, only some minor scratches on the stand. Monitor was make in April 2019.

Comes with hdmi and DisplayPort cable. display quality is good enough for me, the downside is the touch panel which is hard to adjust setting and brightness, and not enough pre-set colour scheme. But at this price it is a great deal, it has built in speaker which is quite loud and the screen can rotate which is a bonus.

Overall very happy with the purchase. Thanks Op

  • Got mine today. Seems dead. Nothing is showing on screen. Can't even see OSD menu when power led is on.

    • +2

There should be a bright blue splash screen with the Philips logo in the middle when you first turn it on, if not then it's probably dead.

There is a power switch next to the power port, but if the light is on then that can't be the issue.

      • yeah, I am pretty sure the power is ON, led is on. No philips logo.

  • Arrived today(Even to WA that is pretty slow) and has no stand. Came with HDMI, DP and power cable. Messaged on Ebay to try sort out stand and hopefully won't take another month to get stand…

    Edit - Message from ebay:

"Our office is currently closed for the Xmas and New Years' period. Our customer service team has limited access to email and messages during this period.

********Please message us again after the 3rd so we can address your inquiry.********"

    • +1

I am sure @Calmago will sort you out. Just sucks you can't use it yet.

    • +1

Also in WA, arrived same day as you. Just got around to unboxing it and shipped with no stand as well sadly.
It clearly states "no stand" on the side.
Hopefully easy enough to get resolved.

      • Yeah mine was the same with "No stand" written on the side, I ended up getting one of these since amazon delivered in 2 days: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08DKBWS18 this stand works amazing. So now I'm trying to see if BNEACTTRADER will give me a partial refund to contribute towards it instead of sending the stand as it is now pointless.

        • I got a $20 refund which I am happy with.
