Step one 15% off gift cards
Get up right now and get to your local Coles. When there find the gift card section and buy the fixed ultimate gift cards.

Ones that work are:

Step 3 Jb hi-fi price match Step 3 instore price match
web chat JB hi-fi or go in store and get them to price match amazon AU

Step 4 buy console
use gift cards to buy switch making the actual price of switch $499-15%=$381.65.

If you can't complete the purchase in 1 transaction as JB hi-fi has a 5 gift card limit per purchase. Swap the Coles gift cards to a jbhi fi gift card eg swap 4 ultimate him $50 to 1 $200 jbhifi gift card Edit thanks for member to correct

Step 5 buy games
Search for games online and get jbhifi to price match instore and buy with gift cards again

Step 6 conclusion
Return home knowing you have completed a tier 1 deal and revel in your glory

Extra thought.

I havnt tried this step but just thought of it.

Pretty sure the JB HIFI gift card policy states that gift cards cant be used to purchase other gift cards, meaning you cant use 4 $50 Coles Ultimate cards to buy one $200 jB HIFI Card. Therefore, based on a maximum of 5 gift cards per transaction, your actual total price will be $250 in discounted cards (which costs you $212.50) + the remaining $199 paid out of pocket which comes to an end price of $411.50. Still a decent price but not the sub-400 most of us were hoping for.

See number 12 from this article for gift card T&Cs: https://support.jbhifi.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/360052939334…

      You could use 4 x $100 and 1 x $50 ultimate gift cards costing $382.50

      • +1

ahh yes ofcourse. My bad i thought $50 was the max denomination for the gift cards. I just went out and got 5x $100 cards from the second coles i visited! as usual, you have to be quick to scoop up a good ozbargain deal.

I just bought a $150 JB HiFi gift card with 3 Ultimate gift cards.

If you read the Gift card T&C, at the very top Gift cards is defined as:-

JB Hi-Fi branded gift cards (“Gift Cards”)

Ultimate gift cards are EFTPOS based and is not covered by the Gift card T&C.

Just purchased an oled switch from JB hifi using this :) thanks OP

On a side note, the store may try and say that they dont price match with Amazon for a variety of crap excuses. Just mention that other JB’s do the price match and that its the official Amazon AU store. The manager will eventually buckle and they should accept the price match without much more push back.

  • I desperately want the Splatoon version but it’s $549 at JB HiFi. Any idea if they would price match to the White OLED on Amazon for it?

    • +1

Not sure I know they price match like for like.

Great post OP, these are the kinds of bargains I live for!
I haven't really experimented with Eftpos Gift cards w/ discounts but man I probably should, hey!
