I'm assuming this doesn't come with the game.

    • +7

      Correct

    • +6

      What the hell Nintendo?

      • +1

        Exactly.

      • Classic Nintendo

        • +2

Classic Nintendo would have included a game.

  • +4

    Cheers mate, what a deal.

  • +5

    • +7

      Por que no los dos.

        • +1

What is this sanity you speak so highly off.

          🤪

          • @xoom: I dont even know anymore.im still on here so i probably lost it along time ago.

            • +3

@maverickjohn: The only sanity i know are those stores selling overpriced music shite. And even they are on the brink.

  • +3

Thanks OP, finally pulled the trigger and got one!

    • +1

      Me too! Thanks OP.

  • +1

hmm tempted too bad the chip hardmod is difficult to do

    • +4

I'd wait until Nintendo stops updating the firmware, just like the Wii U/ 3DS.

In the meantime, time to play through the backlog.

      • so you mean just stick with V1 for now ?

        • -2

Not even. I'd only touch the Switch itself when they stop updating it.

My backlog spans too many consoles, including a modded Wii U.

    • +1

The hard mod isn't hard to do if you know what you're doing lol just expensive to buy the part.

You can also pay someone to do the labour.

    • +2

There's a few people on gumtree and FB marketplace that can install. Btw hwfly is the latest chip and you can buy on aliexpress. Remember to do dat0 direct :)

      • Under what search should I look?

  • +7

Damn, I sold my v2 2 years ago as it became way too time consuming. This is super tempting. Buy now think later. Thanks OP.

    • +3

Speaking like a true ozbargainer. Your ozb membership just got extended to 2025.

      • I will gladly take any free membership extensions!

  • damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • +1

    Picked one up. Thanks Op

  • Amazing deal and lowest price by far, Mr BG.
Too bad I already bought the OLED model from your last BIG W deal for the kids. Now they want a pro controller.

    • +4

No worries DC! Hopefully your kids have been enjoying and using the Switch to play games a lot :)
I’ll keep an eye out on the pro controller but it has been hovering around $89. Will dm you if I find anything better on this

      • Please dm me for pro controller deals as well. Thanks

  • +2

Too good a price to say no.

  • Switch 2 must be landing soon

    • +14

Yea, soon tm. Been hearing about soon since 2019.

      • +4

Round the corner if you ask me. 🙃

        • Is it a good time to buy then or hold till new version comes?

          • +1

@Brakus: Just buy one and enjoy it

          • +1

@Brakus: You should be able to sell it for $300+ if there's a new version and you want to buy it. I sold my non-OLEDs for $300 and probably could have held out for more if I could be bothered.

            • @Miss B: Fb marketplace?

              • +1

@Brakus: Yeah, marketplace. Most people don't use Ozbargain and only see RRP and slight discounts. They weren't hackable ones or anything, wasn't even a month ago. Had been using one for over a year and the other had picked up secondhand for $260. I sold them because I bought 2 x OLEDs for ~$395 each after discounts and discounted gift cards, not quite as good as this.

            • @Miss B: not after today… second market price will drop

          • @Brakus: Depends if your old one is hackable. Can even get $350 or so

            • @CodeXD: got mine for $250 all working fine, not banned, all accesories, box. just i feel the joycon locking mechanism isnt that strong, i mean if i force (not too hard) i may be able to release the joycon without pressing the release button.
i dont know if that is normal or not ?

            • @CodeXD: Which ones are hackable? The v1s?

      • -6

My guess is that’s when Nintendo was planning on announcing it. Then the pandemic hit and they discovered idiots will keep paying high prices for the existing underpowered console.

That and they’re probably nervous of a flop next generation, eg. like the Wii U after the widely successful Wii.

  • +5

    Thanks, OP. Finally got one.
I will surely go 1 Ozbargain level up after wife finds out.

    • +1

Get acquainted with the dog. You be in the dog house with it.

      • +4

But we don’t have a dog. I’ll wait for a bargain on dog houses so I can get one for myself.

        • Hope the couch is comfy then. Coz thats where you will be sleeping for a while.

  • Will JB price match this?

  • Oh, now I have an excuse to trade in my OLD switch. Thanks op.

  • Good find!

  • no click and collect?

  • So cheap is it because of the colour?

    Game not included, right?

    • I would think oversupply.
      Game not included

    • +1

Cheap to draw people into eBay plus

  • -3

Still doesn't beat the Good Guys @ $319 for the white. But I'm waiting for Switch Pro to upgrade mine. No point with the same old ass chip

    • +2

Waiting for the switch pro max. 🤪

    • OLED?

      • +1

Yep, I got 2 at the time

        • +3

That deal was a pricing error, so can't really compare with this deal.

      • +1

        Was this deal - 2 for $639

Most orders were cancelled, only a few lucky people got it as they picked up right as the store opened.

        • Yep

  • Can the discount code be used on the regular (white) version?

    • just checked and no it can't

  • +1

    Wow thanks!

  • Amazing price, thought I'd done well getting Neon OLED for $399 from amazon prime day ready for kids xmas, this price is really good, shame I don't have eBay plus!

  • Are games go on sale? Best place to get them?

    • +2

First-party games rarely have a sizable discount.

For physical, either Amazon/ JB or second-hand markets.

For digital, check out Deku Deals.

    • Oddly, the new pokemon games coming out next month are only $48 on amazon at the moment (Pre-Order).

    • Dekudeals for digital on Nintendo eshop.. It's not great for physical. I just have a "switch" alert set up for Ozbargain.

  • Damn I already have a V1 unpatched which works great with atmosphere but I wouldn't mind a bigger screen 😂

    • +1

      Doo iittt

    • +2

      You can have both :p

      • OLED to play legit games
      • V1 to play… games on the seven seas

and use both to play local couch games, or to trade yourself in pokemon/animal crossing haha

I have V1 unpatched but I only play docked, so no point in upgrading for now.

      • thing is that I'm not sure there's much point, as when I'm at home I mostly play on the ryujinx emulator so I can upscale and use xbox controllers, I only ever use my switch when I'm away from home but at that point is it worth dropping almost $400 on it? not sure 🤔

        • same. i have old bad eyes, very hard to play on console (most games especially ones with texts)…… i guess slight bigger and sharper screen wont help that much.

sooo ryujinx is good? can run most games ? damn then why i have to buy v1.. oh for fun modding :)

    • Would be great if OLED version can be patched.
But from what I gather, OLED version is much harder to patch compared to Lite

      • just needs a hwfly modchip installed, loads of people offer installation if you purchase it. More expensive than the rcm jig for the v1's but still not incredibly expensive :)

        • I would shop around later if I decided to upgrade. Buy first think later ozbargain style.

I assume playing docked would have very minor difference due to the same processor they're using. I'm currently using v1 with RCM hack as well.

          • @OzBestDeal: OLED has upgraded processor compared to v1.

            • @CodeXD: Ah that's good to know…
Another reason to bite the upgrade

              • @OzBestDeal: nvm, looks like i'm wrong.

v1 has Tegra X1 (code name Erista) and the red box and onwards are Tegra X1+ (Mariko). I assumed the + would have upgraded processing power but hardware specs are the same.

      • I have a v1 switch and use RCM vulnerability.

The guide also says hacking red box, a Switch Lite or an OLED Switch, all use the same hard mod method and needs to be soldered onto the motherboard (SX Core, SX Lite, or HWFLY).

      • nope, lite also hard same as oled no diff.

  • +1

I wasn't really going to bother upgrading to the OLED model buttt this was to tempting. Excited!

  • +1

How expensive are nintendo games? Good variety of games available? Worth to buy it already have ps4?

    • incredibly expensive, but they are all really high quality

      • +2

I wouldn't say $60-70 is incredibly expensive. The problem is they never go on sale, but this also means they retain their value quite well. I could sell my 5 year old copy of Breath of the Wild for $50 if I wanted to.

      • "all really high quality" never played Chocobo GP huh

      • that was before they opened up the marketplace to all the rando games.
