Hey unfortunately preorders are not part of the sale specifically as it can vary wildly. Generally we're also already discounting quite a lot of pre orders as part of the pre order process.
The prices are quite jacked up
For example I was interested in the samus Metroid dread figma figure and even after discount you’re at $220 but there’s many places online for $199 as normal price.
I'll be honest, the RRP are not set by us but our official distributors in Australia. For the majority of pre orders we try to be quite price competitive during normal pre order period and cheaper during initial offering period before manufacturer's order close date.
Specifically for this item it seems one of the other distributor (theres 3 in Australia) has set a very aggressive (possible error) RRP which the online stores then undercut. Please feel free to order this specifically from the other stores while i go and check with that distributor if they made a mistake as we're finding a inconsistent pattern now on certain limited items with their RRP formula.

I'm not disputing that currently the prices are lower. I just wanted provided you an explanation as to why this is the case caused by the other distributor setting a low RRP (madman). For reference their own margin on this item compared with most other things they offer is significantly lower as I can see a big difference in wholesale margin pricing. This causes a domino effect on everyone else's pricing to undercut madman.
We generally use them as our second distributor hence don't follow their pricing. As you have brought this specifically up, we've had a look into it and will actually both review our pricing as well as have a discussion with madman about their RRP. We're not trying to jack up the price to then "discount it".
I'm happy for you to go and order elsewhere if its cheaper and regularly do tell customers to do so if its significantly cheaper and we can't match it for whatever reason.
Is it possible to order something as a gift and nominate someone else to pick up in store?
You can nominate someone else to pick up, however if it's for a gift do note that we do have the invoice with the item for pickup and generally need a copy (digital) is fine if it's someone else picking up.
