Hot Chicken Sharing Platter (24-Hour Pre Order): 2x Roast Chickens, 12x Rolls, Coleslaw & Pasta Salad $25 (RRP $38) @ Woolworths

2190

Repost of this deal, which seems to have recently popped up on social media/news again (although is available year round).

Cheap & easy meal for the upcoming Holiday season (or in general)!

“To order a platter or two, simply complete this form and hand it to our Deli and Seafood team.
We only need 24 hours notice to take care of it all.

12 x White Bread Rolls (2 x 6 pack RRP$2.50ea)
2 x BBQ Roast Chickens (2 x RRP$11ea)
1 x 400g Woolworths Coleslaw (RRP$5.50)
1 x 400g Woolworths Pasta Salad (RRP$5.50)
(Total RRP$38, platter saves $13/~34% discount)

Caters for: 5–12”

NB:

  • Chickens appear to be precut into pieces for the platter/sharing style. I assume this is partially why you can’t just walk in and get this bundle price collecting the items off the shelf yourself.

  • Yes you could potentially match this price with some luck shopping around closing time/with sales. But is not so helpful for a particular event/time to rely on this.

  • Anecdotally have heard some specific stores do not offer this platter, so double check with your local!

Seems like a decent deal if you’re already buying some/most of these, as you’re essentially saving/getting more than price of one chicken free.

As a bonus, this hasn’t increased in price as a platter, even though the individual item prices have gone up!

Enjoy.

Not a bad offer but the supermarket salads are a bit meh.

How is a bachelor meant to eat all that in one go

Can they call it BBQ if it's roasted in a steam oven?

Do they have the forms printed at the counter?

They had them on the deli counter at my local.

      • Great. Thanks for answering.

My local said they have paused this offer until after Xmas period.

  • Ordered today for pick up sunday, thank you

  • It worked at my local woolworths but they wouldn't do the day before Christmas (said they were too busy that day) so I had to do it late on the 23rd.

  • I dont get why they cant just have an online order option and then you go pick it up the next day or whenever you placed the order for. I do large orders click and collect or direct to boot and only go very occasionally. The thought of fighting for parking especially during this xmas period Twice for one order is quite daunting.

Because online orders (delivery & pick up) are picked in advance, they don't allow you to order hot food (typically from the deli) as it'll spoil.

Only chilled platters can be ordered through the website for pick up/direct to boot & delivery. To save yourself a trip the day before, you might be able to place an order by calling your local store and speaking to the deli.

      • That is interesting but i am sure there would be a way to do it. Since refrigerated and frozen goods are still kept in refrigeration / freezer till the person has arrived to collect it, Surely they could do something similar with hot food? Shame really as my family does most of their ordering online in order to save time and hassle. Having to go in twice for 1 order would be annoying, as usually we dont even set foot into the store.

  • The "odd-bunch" chickens chopped up nicely so you couldn't tell.
I would have to de-bone the pieces to make chicken sandwiches, but still a great deal.

  • I've left Christmas food shopping late this year - is it basically impossible to get a roast chicken and salad unless you've preordered?

  • Seems to have gone up to $35 now.
