Samsung Jet 70 Complete Stick Vacuum $494.10 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

80
92WICKEDWED10

For those interested in getting a cordless vacuum cleaner that competes with the Dyson range but cheaper. Jet 70 $494.10

I believe that is the cheapest it has been based on past ozbargain results.

Samsung Jet 70 complete is 150 AW (same as Dyson V10) which is the minimum power that can do a 3 bedroom house in one go depending on cleaning habits and other factors.

Advantages of the Jet 70 over V10:

  • No trigger holding when using
  • LED screen to tell you the mode you are on and where the issue is (filter, blockage in pipe or head)
  • Mesh canister filter can be cleaned and washed
  • Has Hard floor head already in the box (perfect for users who have at least 50/50 ratio hard floors to carpet and it's $149 on top when buying it for a V10 animal)
  • Quicker charge time of 3.5 hours vs 4 hours (V10)
  • Canister is bigger 800ml (v10 is 700ml)
  • Battery can be easily replaced without unscrewing.

Disadvantages

  • Battery life is up to 40 mins vs up to 60 mins with V10 (though testing on same modes and heads, similar run time, both low mode with main head is around 30 mins)
  • Can't buy a stand for jet 70
  • Reputation in the Vacuum world is not as big as Dyson.
  • Dyson V10 has a slightly better detangle main head.
Samsung Jet 90

For those comparing with a V11, Jet 90 is also $764.10 with code

Also 200AW, up to 60 mins run time, similar Pros and cons like above but comes with a stand but V11 has a LCD screen and user experience of run time/stats.

Bespoke Jet Complete

And just in case people were looking at the bespoke range $1124.10 w/code

  • 210AW, built-in emptying system in the stand, 2x up to 60-minute batteries and the main head is a soft front roller to minimise flicking of dirt and dust for those who sometimes feel lazy like myself to swap heads on hard floors.

I bought the bespoke jet from the last deal (the auto emptying station is a gamechanger).

While it works fine, I think that Dyson has a better floor head since its fully motorised whereas the brush for samsung (i assume they are the same between Jet and bespoke yet) is half manual. My old dyson would usually pick things up in first pass for bigger items my samsung needs 2 or 3 passes sometimes to pick it up (since it just pushes it rather than pulls it in).

I love the bespoke model though, i no longer dread emptying the thing and grabbing a chopstick to pry the fluff out.

    • I believe the jet 70 has a motorized head like the dysons. My understanding is the reason the Bespoke is only half motorized is because it has the duel head and Shark have a patent on the duel motorized duel head, this was Samsungs get around. Anyway personally I haven't had the trouble you have had with my bespoke (double passes) but we're mostly hard floors.

      • its actually the hard floors that it occurs for me. it does amazing on carpet. if i put something small and light like rice bubbles, half the time it pushes it around so needs another passes to try again

Really happy with my Jet 60 and clean station. I paid $322 + $100 from the Samsung website. I won't be going back to a cheapie Xiaomi vac. But I'm thinking about passing it down to mum for Christmas and getting the Jet 70. I want the turbo head and hard wood brush attachment.

Just had mine repaired, took 2 months.

Motor whirring up and down on low speeds.

Also these are an ABSOLUTE PITA to clean. They literally recommend you take it back to remove hair and muck off rollers. You can only clean it so much yourself without huge hassle.

Great stick vac but the only problem I encounter is that the handle causes blisters between my thumb and index finger through the constant motion. Happened on first use, with the blister forming quickly and popping, so I had raw skin exposed. Thinking of using gloves next time haha. I've owned other stick vacs before and this is the first time that's happened.
