    JB’s Telstra plans:

    • $400 bonus gift card on $69 plan for 12 months
    • $700 bonus gift card on $69 plan for 24 months
    • $1200 bonus gift card on $99 plan for 24 months
    • Just ported over from Telstra to Optus prepaid a week ago. Do I need to stay with Optus for 30 days to qualify for one of this Telstra plans?

    • can't find the $700 bonus GF offer from their web. is it in-store only?

      • If you follow the link from OP, and scroll all the way down, you’d be able to see 3 plans offered which all end on 14 Dec

You can either go in store or request a callback for all 3 plan options :)

  • Anyone successfully using extra 10% off code after price matched during last promo?

    • +5

I did it in store last time after I rang them and they confirmed they do it. Couldn’t do it online though.
So plan is to give it a try tomorrow
Spoke with one of the guys in store they did the price match and applied the code at the counter

    • I just called a store to get a price match. They wouldn't match Good Guys Price Beat system, only their advertised price. So they gave me a slightly discounted price instead. Then they SMS a special link to complete payment on their online store. But when I applied the WW code it overrode the discount and took 10% off the original advertised price.

This was still a better price for me, and the last item in the state. So I went ahead with it as I needed it before Xmas. You might get lucky with someone in-store.

      • Never had problem doing PM & code before but today the lady tried both codes and said didn't work on price match. Not sure if they typed the wrong code or system has been updated .

        • Yes. I got price matched today but when the cashier entered the extra 10% off code, the system did not allow the transcation. No deal!

      • The in store staff told me can't do price match and coupon code together, only can choose one, maybe it's depends on the staff and store.

Anyone know if this can stack with a perks voucher?

  • Any good laptop for secondary school, or should O wait for boxing day? It looks like there is nothing decent for $1k with 16gb RAM and Windows Professional

    • +5

Laptop bargains from JB? Have there been any in years?

Takes a relatively uncommon (per individual/household) purchase to be better than the perks voucher. Unless you buy tv's or phones every day, you weirdos

    Bose QuietComfort 45 for $305.10

Only beaten by the David Jones price previously.

    • Trying to find a price match to get me below $300 for the QC45s with the discount. Anyone had any luck with this?

      • FYI - for those who need this too I just asked for a JB deal and told them I had a budget of $300 and in the current sale they come down to $305. They brought it down further to $300… you could try for lower I'm sure.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

  • It doesn't seem to apply to pre-order games. Bummer!

  • +2

    No bargains in this store.

  • Hisense HRCF144 145L Hybrid Chest Freezer for $269.10 seems like a solid buy, if there is one near you or you can price match.
Have it at home, great for stocking up on freezer bargains.
Even better if our have perks gift cards and ultimate home gift cards.

  • Does it stack with the $10 perk code ?

    • No..one voucher per order.

    • @congo, guess you're better off using the perks code if buying anything under $100

  • +1

Some decent prices on tabletop games. My recommendations for stocking fillers: The Crew and Ecosystem.

    • +1

Once you wade through the sea of Monopoly versions and top deck cards…

  • Was litterally going to go in and buy this with an old 10% off gift card have: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/samsung-b-series-b650-430… plus and extra 10% off does not hurt.

  • can I use gift cards + this coupon for the purchase? is there a limit on number of gift cards that can be redeemed on 1 purchase?

  • The coupon does seem to stack with their blanket 25% off eScooters which is.. nice if you're in the market.

I've been trying to justify doing something like that but probably too novel for me.

  • Would they accept code without email? Assuming this is for JB perks?

    • +2

Nah this is regular old "sign up to get our emails", not perks. Should work for you no worries.

      • Thanks buddy!

      • Oh wait, would this include in-store as well?

        • +1

It does but it says you need to scan the barcode from the email. Only thing is the email didn't have a barcode this time (usually does).

Saw this and went and grabbed some of the $100 Ultimate for Him cards from Coles. Have successfully bought 4 x $100 JB gift cards with them, using the same account. 1 x failed attempt.

So the 4 successful were all bought using the same JB account. It's a new JB account, logging in with Google, I hadn't used it before. Name matches on Google account and order and I put the same for the name on the card.

The 1 failed attempt (my second attempt) I tried to be sneaky and use a different Google account, on wifi instead of mobile network, in Incognito. I used my first name and just initial of my surname - I suspect using the initial is where it went wrong.

Just keep in mind, it can fail and if it does you have to wait for the money to go back on the card. I bought 5 when I only needed 3. I'll probably do the 5th in store when the money is back.

It took about half an hour for the cards to come through after purchasing, but the confirmed/cancelled emails came through within a few minutes.

Edit: There were some Ultimate for Him cards that didn't have the JB logo, I specifically didn't get those, not sure if they work at JB. It's probably been covered in the massive thread but I CBF reading it all.

    • So this was online? I couldn't get this done the other night and landed on not accepting Ult cards through JB without converting to something else? Ideas?

      • Yes, online. What was the issue you had? Did it cancel the orders or wouldn't accept the card details?

    • +2

Check that other thread and the comments by Wookie. The VISA Ultimate for Him cards work at JB even without the JB picture on the front. I bought one today to check before buying more. Good tip to grab those last cards that others avoid!

      • Ah yes I went through this last Christmas! They update the list of retailers sometimes so the old cards don't have all the logos but will still work with the new stores.
Check the website and it shows you which card works with which stores, and if it's just instore or also online etc.
        https://www.ultimategiftcards.com.au/all-retailers/

    • Actually, they mustn't have taken the money from the card on the order that was cancelled. I've just been able to buy the 5th one.

      • I did mine in store so haven't tried this method yet. What did you use for expiry?

        • +2

          12/29
When I went to the website to do something else, after I looked everywhere for it I decided to just try to guess, because it has 3 years expiry after I entered something THEN it tells me the expiry is 12/29 for using the cards online 🙄

          • @Miss B: Sweet, that did the trick. Thanks!

    • It took me 30s to register why you went about this way (as discount doesn't apply to gift cards), but you're pretty much converting discounted Ultimate cards into JB GC first, then to purchase a discounted item so you'll net out at 23.5% discount!

      • Yeah, I did it for the Twinkly 600 light string, which is $359 (already discounted) and brings it down to $275. Haven't pulled the trigger though, still a lot for Christmas tree lights. For now, I have 15% off JB gift cards that don't expire at least, I'm sure I'll find something.

    • How long does it take fot the money to go back on the card? I made an attempt using 12/25 (I was thinking it takes 3 years to expire) and it said Security code was not matched by the processor while it still took the money from card.

      • Not sure. Someone mentioned in the gift card post that you have to wait for the money to go back on the card. I tried about an hour later and it worked, so not sure if they took the money at all.

    • I think you can try, I did this before. I asked the sales guy if he can do the price of the a Surface Go when it on sale for $629 from $899. He said no problem and bought it.

    • My problem is the other way round. Purchased an Edge 30 Pro on the 28th. Now its $101 cheaper only 16 days later!
Any advice on getting JB to refund or at least store credit the difference? I think i saw on here once it is a 14 day policy?

  • Fitbit Ace 3 for $49 (half price) plus an additional 10% off seems pretty good.

Too bad I already bought some for Christmas presents from TGG more than 30 days ago :(

  • Any chance of stacking with Perks in store?

    • Excludes Apple Products, Gaming Consoles

for those that thought they could get a cheap Playstation VR 2 for 10%, jb decided to screw you over and not allow you to get a discount on Sony playstation branded items.

    • It's the companies that don't allow the discounts. Same as Apple, Microsoft, etc.

      • thats not true because amazon can give discounts on anything they want and they have.

        • It is true, it's negotiated with the companies/sales reps and depends on lots of things.
Amazon is slightly bigger than JB Hi-Fi and has more wiggle room.

  • Motor Edge 30 Pro Worth it?

    • +1

I was thinking about this too, but looks to be back to $999 from $699 😢

It seems to be the greatest SD 8 gen 1 at discounted price. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Could save some money on that remote control poo.
