  • yeah I am keen on these but sure price will fall soon as more come on market.

    How is iRobot ?

    • I am very happy with the iRobot. Set and forget in the morning when I go to work. My wife complains because if you want things really clean you have to lift the chairs etc. Maybe for women that's a lot of work but I'd rather do that than vacuum…and I like gadgets that don't gather dust :-)

So far, my experience has been good. Only con maybe is my thick wool carpet and all the wires that causes issues sometimes.

This one is NOT an iRobot.

  • Anyone know if the Dog wins when home alone in the house with the MIRVC

Youtube is full of videos of pets vs robot. This is the ultimate dog win: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aetD7b-MRgE

But I guess you get what you pay for, and there must be a reason these are reduced from $600 to $150. I personally have two Roombas (for upstairs and downstairs) and I love them. But they are a bit like running a racing car rather than the family station wagon — you need to do major maintenance on them after each run, an engine rebuild after each race and wheel changes many times before the session is over. Fine for me, I am a tech-head, but it might be a bit challenging maintenance-wise for the elderly.

I have the roomba too. It does need maintenence, but it is very easy to pull the brushes etc. out. A very user friendly machine IMO. I find emptying it & cleaning its brushes after each use, much easier than actually having to vacuum.

I have one of them. Do yourself a favour just stay away from this one. Period. They fail, and I mean they FAIL. I've heard about many of them having faulty mainboard, mine was gone in few weeks, was waiting for the replacement board for several months, and new one is showing similar faults. I've seen them for sale as parts because mainboards were dying in couple of weeks.

I can show long chains of email, sent to the seller and Chinese manufacturer…

    I'd personnaly get something esle.

  • Ive got the LG Roboking, very happy with it.

In my experience you get what you pay for

    • +1 i've tried that (forgot the name)crap from tvsn and it didn't even last one day :(
I suppose if you stick with the "good" brands(and you pay for them of course) you 'll be fine
