If you have a copy of shenmue you can play this for free by visiting the arcade!

Great port of a great game.

Only wish they'd do an OutRun 3 or port 2/006 to something, mind you it looks fantastic at 4k 60 via emulation

What's your preferred set up for Outrun 2/Outrun 2006?
I've struggled to get it running as good as I'd like

You can download the game here for free, it's abandonware https://www.myabandonware.com/game/outrun-2006-coast-2-coast…

Then go to here (link below), it's a mod called Outrun 2 FXT and it has many improvements for running it on modern operating systems with widescreen and in higher resolutions, plus some other advanced features too, highly recommended!

        Details here:

and download this mod file: http://dragonking.arcadecontrols.com/simplephp/ccount/click.…

OutRun 2, got on disc, use an Xbox 360 retail display kisok thing for it, vaguely emulates arcade vibes (also have sit down Arcade 1up of OutRun)

OutRun 2006, currently the PS2 version on the series s in bed (at 720 to maintain 60) and series x in lounge room (4k60).

PS2 disc version doesn't work properly in my back compat PS3, too many errors. But playing on PSP is also a great way if you like portables. No compromises, still hits a steady 60, great way to play.

OutRun online I have the demo on 360 but never got to buy it before delisting, it's just a higher res version of 06 but with less content, you'd do better to just emulate and upscale nowadays.

Can't comment on PC, used to play it on my MacBook a decade ago but ive been a Chromebook boi since 2014 and barely touched Mac or PC since.

        • I thought PSP was only 30 fps, I'll be dammed

  • Is this 60fps like Virtua Racing?

It's the smoothest version I've played for sure. This review says it is 60fps.

It also has widescreen, 2 new songs and extra cars.
