Pioneer Headunit 3450UB $150 + $15 Shipping

20

I was looking at the 2450UB (the model down) which is $148 at ryda. Was in contact with Carbon Car Systems and they're doing the model up (3450) on special for $150.

Here's the specs: http://www.pioneer.com.au/au/products/25/121/61/DEH-3450UB/i…

Features: USB/iPod/Auxiliary/Radio

Pretty much has everything bar bluetooth. Also has some cool features in terms of colours :)

Myself, I'm buying these speakers with it: http://www.ryda.com.au/Pioneer-TS-A1674S-61-2-3-Way-Speakers… (for the front of my car).

Also, I'm price matching this at JB as it's closer and I don't want to travel to a ways past parra for the speakers (40 mins for me each way).

Enjoy :)

P.S. Ryda's site is currently down

  • for an extra 50 bucks i would probably prefer this
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-2012-Pioneer-DEH-4450BT-CD-MP…
comes with blue tooth and an external mic
    - i find these 2 features absolutely essential for driving and phone use..
(i haven;t looked around to see if you can get it cheaper elsewhere)

but if 150 is what you want to spend - a reasonable unit you have picked.

    • +1

That's a great deal :) I didn't care too much about bluetooth and trying to spend as little as possible :)

  • how difficult are these to install yourself? or do you recommend letting professionals deal with ripping out your car's interior?

    • I'm getting a mate to do it. I wouldn't install it myself because I'd prefer to spend more to make sure it's done right

      • If it's JUST the stereo, and you want to do it yourself, get a stereo wiring harness off ebay first (you'll need two. 1st one to connect from your car to ISO standard connector, 2nd to connect from ISO standard connector to your new stereo)- this saves you from having to chop/trim the wires in your car. this also means if you ever sell your car, you can easily remove it and put the stock one back in.

removing trim: google is you're friend, most of the time you'd be able to find a step by step on DIY on car forums, etc etc.

If you're going for fully-sick-uleh-hectic-doof-doof twin-subwoofer, amps, 6x9s etc etc .. take it to a professional.

        • wiring harness for this particular deck:

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PIONEER-ISO-WIRING-HARNESS-DEH-14…

and it's good from a safety point of view. i've seen "professional" jobs where they cut wires, put some electrical tape around them (not even soldered) and stuffed it all back in. it just takes two loose wires to cause an electrical fault and/or fire…

        • thanks for the tips! yeh I'm actually going for replacing the speakers and all too so I'd prefer a professional. wouldn't happen to recommend any on the west coast would you? are there places that are happy to install for you even if you haven't purchased the products from them?

        • sorry buddy, don't know any.

but most car forums have state-specific areas. that's your best bet.

        • @jimbob,

The dudes that often do it out the back of JB Hifi etc are usually just contractors, so they'll do it for anyone. ;)

  • This is $22 cheaper than from Pioneer shop online so it is an OK deal: http://shop.pioneer.com.au/shop-online/car-entertainment/car…

  • This also available from there ebay listing for same price.
Wiring harness can also be supplied for easy installation for an additional $30.
