What do you mean by "eligible vet bills" ?

Which are eligbile and which aren't ???

    • Sorry - you need to get into the PDS to find an explanation of the detail or contact them by phone. I just used the promotional code when I found it, and reported it here

      good luck

        you need to

why? you posted this deal but haven't provided any information about how this deal is better…

80% of 'eligle' vet bills is very vague.

The Medibank deal may well be much better value and therefore this is not a bargain…

Why anyone would expect an entire insurance policy's terms and conditions to be quoted in this listing must not have ever taken out insurance.
For those interested, it was incredibly easy to navigate to these pages, but reading the T&G documents will take considerably longer.

Why anyone would expect an entire insurance policy's terms and conditions

no, don't exect all the T&C's but expect that person posting deal would at least add some information to qualify their statements…

"•Get up to 80% back on your eligible vet bills^"

        is very vague…

If you can't add info, don't make these misleading claims

      • Thanks for posting the link sibbu - I should have done it originally.

I'm happy to have changed frpm Medibank - had the policy for two years and they knocked back my only claim - so this can't be worse!

        • Then you might want to compare the two policies carefully and reconsider woolies, as the policies are both written by Hollard (http://www.petsure.com.au/), they should be very similar.

  • Do not trust. It's a scam. Exclusions everywhere.
Older companion animals won;t cover anything. Toxic brand.

  • How does this compare to Petplan?

Some insurance is better than no insurance if you have a pet. I don't usually believe in insurance, but then I had to pay $5000 to fix my cat's leg after he got stuck in a shoe rack. The cat's been fine ever since we got insurance.

    • Be aware of sub-limits, woolies insurance(and many others) has a $1000 cap annually for some issues whereas Petplan doesn't, tho Petplan is more expensive. Also only petplan won't have any life time cap for a specific condition, it starts fresh from the anniversary date each year.

      • Thanks. I think I'll stick with Petplan :)

  • I'm with Medibank now and thinking to switch to Woolies as Medibank "rewarded" my loyalty (with them for 3+years) by AUTOMATICALLY "updating" my plan from $500 excess with 100% bill claimed $18/month to $200 excess with 80% bill claimed $28/month which is more expensive than signing up the same new plan with them.

Most of the pet insurance policies are written by same company if it's not PetPlan. Still have to wait for a while as my dog does have some issues now, need to wait the lab result, if nothing bad is found (fingers crossed) I will make the switch asap.

  • I have an 18 year old dog and insurance companies I have checked in the past don't insure dogs over nine for comprehensive plans, but it is possible to get accident plans. In my case, I have done better by shopping around for quotes from local vets. The range in prices for the same service is quite amazing.

I never knew insurance was so expensive.
    $335 a yr plus excess?

better include some massage therapy, im sure my cat will take advantage.

      $335 a yr plus excess?

and most things are probably excluded…

    • Vets charge a lot.

  • Check your house and/or contents insurance - many companies offer pet insurance as an add-on at very little extra cost. For about $1 a week extra we have $2000 a year cover for our 2 dogs.
