  • Minimum income?

    • They gave me 27k limit and I'm on 66k a year

      • that's high! i requested a limit near the minimum

It looks like their minimum credit is $2000 so maybe minimum income is around $30k?

      • Wow

Any idea if you can claim the bonus points if you've had a different Citibank credit card in the past 12 months? T&Cs just say "Customers who have previously received or are entitled to receive the 60,000 Velocity Points will not be eligible to receive another 60,000 Velocity Points." without the usual 12 month cool down period

    • Also interested - "Fees and charges apply. Credit criteria apply. New Citi Rewards credit card customers only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers."

I had a Qantas Citi Rewards, but what does "new" mean?!

      • +1

I applied for both Prestige then this card in the last 2 months. Confirmed with online webchat that having other Citi cards doesn't preclude you from the 60k bonus pts.

Already got both bonus points as well confirmed in my CC statements.

        • Very nice did they send you an email (like they did with ANZ rewards) asking to put your velocity number and details in, then the 60K points come thru?

          • +1

            @adrianhughes1998: Yup. Exactly this.

            • @BuyLowLetsGo: Thanks mate good to know. This is only my 2nd ever Velocity card (after churning Qantas cards for years), so good to know the process..

          • @adrianhughes1998: When did ANZ send the email for those velocity points? I met the spend in the first month and I've just received the statement for the second month, and no sign of the email.

            • +1

@spiff: Dunno it was maybe the third month of having it. I met min spend in middle of 2nd month. Was a text message then an email within minutes of each other

        • Wait so you had two card opened at the same time?

          • +1

@nightelves: Lol. Yes. Still open as we speak. T&Cs were clear to me that this was allowed. I could technically even go for the Premier card now to complete the trinity.

Time to ditch Qantas FF cards and move to velocity?

Been so hard to get any decent flights out of Australia this year

    • I've managed to book two return business class flights since August last year to Asia, and I'm only a bronze member. Albeit I had to be flexible with my dates.

    • 100%.

stopped doing qantas even though I was only like 40k points away from pointsclub plus because it just has no availability.

No point chasing points for the sake of points.

  • Balance transfer offer.
0% p.a. for 15 months2 with no balance transfer fee. Reverts to cash advance rate. Please note, no interest free period will apply to retail purchases while you have a balance transfer.
Not bad I guess you could still get your bonus on purchases if you paid it off straight away.

  • I’m assuming I won’t be eligible because I have the PayPal which is not Citi. Just finalising refund and then it’ll close. Did anyone see how long you have to wait before you can apply again?

  • With NAB's acquisition of Citi, does holding a Citi card now preclude you from receiving NAB bonus cc offers?

    • i doubt the systems are linked yet.

      • No, i had the Suncorp card several months back for the bonus points.

I just confirmed via live chat now that with Suncorp/Citi being owned by NAB, it has no impact on this application.

  • anyone knows when is the reward point velocity transfer bonus gonna startttt?

    • +1

Normally May and November I think

  • As a Qantas FF looking to join Velocity, can someone describe the process of booking award flights through Virgin? Availability and ease of use? Etc?

    • Better availability than Qantas.

    • Annoyingly when booking international you're generally a month behind the other airlines award schemes, so much harder to get a rpemium booking.

also they add massive amount of taxes to booking.

i bought some lifemiles for a friend to get bnack from Mexico to Syndey next year and the booking was only $100 USD for the taxes. To book with Velocity the taxes were abount $550.

    • 10000% times better than QFF - I am not even a big virgin fan, used to do qantas my whole life until I realised how much better velocity is

    Rejected - booooo

    • You must earn too much
They don't like people who can pay off their cards

      • I wish

Does anyone know upon approval how long it takes to get a card through mail? Can they provide the card virtually so that I can add it to my Apple wallet and pay in the meanwhile?

    • About a week, and no

      • +1

That's interesting, I was able to access the virtual card in Citi app after approval and add the card details to use it in Google Pay straight away.

        • I guess things have changed since Citi finally got with the times and got onto Google Pay (I closed my account back in March)

  • how much is 60,000 points worth?

  • the deal is still on the website cant find where it says expiry date, can anyone direct me/?

  • i keep getting denied this card have never been denied before 120k income , 150k mortgage no dependants doesnt make sense, anyone got any ideas why they would deny the application ?

    • If you have had taken advantage of their offers in the past 6 months they normally deny your allocation, I have had this happen a few times.

  • What's the go with timeframes to get the points? Has anyone had luck in getting the points quick?

Called the Citi support team who said it'll take 8-10 weeks for them to send an email for the points redemption, then another 10 weeks (!!) for Velocity to deposit the points.

Got mine yesterday. Opened account 26th Dec, made the 3k spend ~28th Dec.

You'll get an email asking for your Velocity number soon after meeting the eligible spend.

    • +1

About a month after meeting minimum spend got the email saying I got the bonus points and to give my velocity number.

Three weeks later the V points were in my account.
