Chemist Warehouse Gift Card Terms and Conditions

  • Digital gift cards are to be treated as cash.
  • Altered, lost, or stolen digital gift cards will not be replaced, refunded, or redeemed.
  • Digital gift cards are: redeemable for merchandise or services at all Chemist Warehouse stores in Australia; not redeemable for cash; cannot be reloaded and cannot be used for payment of credit or retail accounts.
  • A digital gift card balance must be redeemed before the expiry date shown on the digital gift card email.
    It is the responsibility of the digital gift cardholder to use the full value before the expiry date, cash will not be given for any unused balance. Unused balances on expired digital gift cards will not be refunded or credited.
  • If a purchase exceeds the available card balance, the customer must make up the difference with another payment method.
  • The customer is liable for all transactions on the digital gift card. If credit remains on a digital gift card after a transaction is made, the remaining balance will be stored on the original digital gift card email.
  • We reserve the right to change any terms contained in these Terms of use at any time.

      Typically the bonus tracks almost instantly, and is confirmed at day 5. The base cashback takes another day or so.

      Yes I just bought 2, but $50 separately. And got the upsized $2.50 cashback for each transaction.

      Also I use click and collect and never had a problem with using gift card and it also avoids issues using it in store.

    Can chemist warehouse gift cards be used for prescriptions? It says can be used for merchandise and services. Doesn't specifically exclude. Just seeking confirmation from someone who has used it.

      yes. works fine for prescriptions. have used gift card online to pay for my medication.

        Yes, works fine in store but depends on store as well. Some staff do not know how to redeem digital cards and simply say no.

      yes, although last time I noticed that their older cashier terminal wasn't able to scan it. they switched to a different one and it was fine.

        Yes. That was my experience as well. There seems to be a problem with certain barcode scanners—they need to use a special one. On my last 3 visits where I used my e-gift card, the cashier (a different one each time) seemed to KNOW in advance that their usual scanner at the checkout will not scan e-gift cards, so they call out to "borrow" a scanner from the pharmacist's counter. They then swap the scanners (pull out the cable from the existing scanner and plug it into the new one). Annoying as hell and time-consuming, but it worked each time!
        Isn't it crazy that certain scanners physically won't work, and they have to inconvenience the customer like that? I don't understand it, but at least I could eventually pay for my all my purchases (yes to the original question: these gift cards are treated as cash and can be used for prescriptions).

    @gotyourback I've just signed up to Shopback using the referral code here. Bought 2 x $50 Chemist Warehouse gift cards. My account says $15 pending earnings which would include $10 sign up and $5 from CW.
    Can I please clarify if I still need to spend min $20 to receive the $10 sign up? I'm not sure if the CW gift cards qualify. T&Cs unclear - exclusions ShopBack Vouchers (Gift Cards), Woolworths Gift Cards.

      Hey mate, so the exclusions have been updated more recently so I'm looking to get the exclusions listed here updated, the Cashback and spend there should be fine to redeem your referral Cashback, the gift cards will take a few days for the Cashback to be processed and redeemable, after that the Bonus will take a couple of days to process as well but should be paid out shortly thereafter provided you've got your withdrawal details added as well. If you don't see this update in about a week or so, definitely shoot me a message and I'll take a look at your account to make sure all's well.
