The cheapos have the benefit of being far easier to transport, lighter and less bulky, and expendable.

      Light
      Cheap
      Comfortable

      Choose two.

      • +1

Can you get light and comfortable?

        • +1

Comfort can a bit subjective. Personally for me these from amazon are pretty close to hitting the trifecta.
Probably not great for bigger people though and less mobile people may have trouble getting out of the chair.

edit: There are some reviews of it on youtube. Here is one of the reviews

        • Helinox zero is what I'll sometimes take hiking. It's not that comfortable but it's about 600g. Also I'm pretty small and light so if you're bigger it'd probably be a bit average in the comfort

Yeah, buy a cheapo, so you have an item less to take back from camping. Just dump it responsibly.

      • On Facebook Market, you mean?

Got a neg, so to those who are not concerned about how they treat their camping gear or haven't camped with other people (who neither are concerned about your camping gear):
        - the straps holding the armrest are going to give after a couple of days,
        - you'll be left with a flap of fabric instead of an armrest and with a bare metal rod that held the armrest at the front of the chair,
        - meanwhile all the hinges becomes wobbly
        - and the material is slowly tearing somewhere, most probably,
        - all of that because you weight more than 50 kgs.

I found a lot of these "specials" are garbage quality: shorts fade after a couple of washes, garden hose adater break easily or pop off during use. On the other hand I have Bunnings cheapo seats going strong for over 7 years…

Hit and miss. Some great buys, some immediate landfill. Test it out in store and always keep the receipts. Their return policy is excellent.

      • +1

Agreed. I can't remember ever getting a dud on Aldi's specials, though. What I do find is that the prices have become less and less "special."

The chair appears to be identical to that on sale at Anaconda for $39.99, marked down from $89.99

Black Friday I got from Anaconda 2 x OzTrail chairs for $50 = That’s great value

      • +2

You should have used the welcome code to get $10 off…. I got 2 for $40.

I got two Mimosa Chair for $60 from Bunnings Ashfield
      Very comfortable
      High quality but bit bulky
Original price was $60 for one
      Bunnings product code 0292261

    • If this is the similar to past Aldi chair it will be of superior quality than Anaconda. Anaconda is just overpriced house brand like BCF

      • Looks very similar to the OzTrail Getaway (the one they are referring to), which is a pretty durable chair. I highly doubt it is any better quality, and also have doubts in its 150kg weight limit.

        • +1

I have both and the moment you lift the Anaconda one you can tell it is the cheapo one. I have the aldi over 2 years and it hasnt failed me yet.

  • +2

How is this 150kg capacity but the one premium one I got from Anaconda is only 120kg.

  • +2

Not sure how this can be considered 'Premium'.

    • +1

Oh, then you haven't seen what BigW or Kmart have.

    • It's better than that.
(which is what I bought for $5 a couple of years ago)

      • Is that Bunnings chair still going after a couple of years? The Kmart cheapos only seem to last 2-3 uses.

  • +1

No front support poles from front seat corner down to feet, would be doubtful with that advertised weight limit.

  • +3

150kg capacity is enough to take me, my wife and the dog

  • How about the ones from Decathlon? eg this one: https://decathlon.com.au/products/low-folding-camping-chair-…
I have two, compact, light and comfy for people less than 80kg I think.

    • "Comfy"?? With no armrest?!
