AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D $479, 5700X $279, Team MP33 1TB NVMe SSD $79.95, Galax RTX 4080 $1899 + Del + Surcharge @ Shopping Express

Kicking off from 8pm AEDT on 25th is Shopping Express' Christmas & Boxing Day sale and given this is my 2500th deal I've been able to confirm the prices for a lot of the products already hinted.

1% surcharge for Card & PayPal payments.

The prices for both the AMD Ryzen 5800X3D and Galax RTX 4080 seem to the lowest price yet and the Team MP33 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD for $79.95 is really good value in my opinion.

Anyone that picked up $20 or $60 store vouchers earlier in the month will be able to use them in this sale.

Below are some of the deals that'll be available:

I'm going to invite the pitchforks and say the 4080 at 1899 isn't that bad a deal compared to 7900XTXs at similar prices

    • If you always buy AMD, had been waiting for the 7900 XTX to drop and show NVIDIA who's boss, and then saw the idle power consumption issues, junction temp issues, poor VR performance, and realised that AIB cards will be more than "discounted" 4080s anyway…

You'd be like me and just accept that NVIDIA has now moved the price tiers up a notch. At this price, if you can afford it, IMO a 4080 is leagues better than an $1800 Reference XTX and considerably better than a 600W AIB xtx at $2k.

      • NVIDIA doesn't decide the price tiers. Consumers decide with their wallet. If we don't buy, then of course NVIDIA needs to drop their prices.

      • My 1080Ti is now getting long in the tooth, and at some stage I'll have to decide my upgrade. As much as I despise the pricing shenanigans nVidia is pulling, I can't and won't "HODL" forever. It didn't work with the 20 or 30 series and I have little reason to believe it will now.

  • Anyone know any good ITX motherboard pairings for the 5700x? Thinking of doing a new build from scratch, but can't decide between AM4/AM5/Intel since the B550 ITX motherboards I've looked at so far feel quite pricey

      • thats the budget board for am4 itx, much more cut down,

        • But solves OPs question, doesn’t it? Can’t have tiny, cheap & fully loaded.

          • @Ulysses31: Yeah pretty fair, I'm not expecting huge bargains on ITX components. I do wonder though how AM4 ITX prices compare with 12th/13th gen intel ITX - e.g. if I can get a better CPU for $100 but save ~$100 on the motherboard then that would be tempting

      • Wonder if these will come down any more as the latest gen matures, or whether they'll just keep them marked up until stock is gone

    Dang. Never the 5900x

  • With the 4070ti coming out soon for around $1800 (cheaper brands) to $1900+ (more premium brands), is this 4080 a great deal for $1900?

  • think its been long over due that i upgrade my 1600x. hopefully they don't run out of stock too fast.

  • I'm currently using 3600, Between the 5700x and 5800x3D which would be better upgrade for the price?

    • +1

If you're gaming get the 5800X3D. If you're after productivity tasks they're quite similar in performance so get the 5700X.

  • The email I received had a RTX 4090 listed as well, any word on that price?

    • +1

      $2999

      • Thanks, have you got any idea what time this will be listed and which model it will be?

  • More click bait SE sales that will sell out in 10 mins once live

    • Yep, thought I was on ticketek.
No cheap 5800x3d for me today :-(

  • Thinking about going from the 3700x to 5800x3d paired with a rtx 3070 @1440p. Anyone with the same spec can give me some advice

    • Depends on your budget. RTX4070ti should be out soon for $200USD more than it should be

  • pretty cheap. scalpers gonna sell it for 3k

  • Hmmm to upgrade my 3700x or not…

  • Anyone have an opinion on a motherboard to pair with Intel Core i7-13700K?

I've been looking at these two:

    GIGABYTE Z790 GAMING X AX ($399)

    vs

ASRock Z790 Steel Legend WiFi ($529)

I may be missing something, but the Gigabyte seems pretty good at $70 off.

  • missed out on the 5800X3D, thought they hadn't implemented yet as the price hadn't changed but then realised if i added it to the cart the price updated.

    • I was refreshing the page cause I thought the price hasn’t updated yet. That sucks

  • What a waste of time, price didn't show as updated for the 5800X3D on the item page but did once added to cart. Except it came with a message "Sorry, we don't have enough 'AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 4.5GHz 8 Cores 16 Threads AM4 CPU (100-100000651WOF)' in stock to fulfill your order. Please change the quantity on order in your shopping cart and click update. Then try to checkout again." Finally a few minutes later the page shows the updated price, and out of stock.

Turned out not to be a Boxing Sale, but a Bogus Sale.

  • +1

What the actual (profanity). 5800X3D went out of stock immediately. Like, there was literally 0 time to purchase it how is that even possible?

    • .#Ticketmaster

  • Dam so missed the 5800X3D or there was no stock lol

  • +1

4080 is a scam… The price never moved!

    • I wouldn't go that far. None of them has so there's obviously a technical issue

    • Yeah :/ hey @Clear where did you see the advertised price? nvm you replied a few seconds before i posted

    • +2

Add it to cart and you get the discounted price

    • I just added it to my cart and the discount showed up!

  • 4080 gone

  • -2

What a joke, already had in cart and no stock when deal went live

    • You're a whole day late. The last deal in this post was at 8pm on the 27th. No wonder you missed it.

  • Anyone get their 4080 yet?

    • No I'm still waiting it for it to be picked, any movement on your order?

      • Nope. Still on pick as well.

        • Just dispatched this afternoon, hope yours is also on the way. Happy new year!

          • @svict4: Yep. Just checked mine and it says the same. Woo!

  • Well turns out everyone missed out on the 5800X3D
After sending an email to the customer service team, I finally got an update on my order…

"Thank you for your order and payment.
We are sorry to advise that we are not able to fill your order as we are not able to get stock at this time.
Although we did have a committed order with our Distributor they have advised us now that this order cannot be filled with no current ETA.

In such circumstances we believe it is best to refund your order in full."
