Cheaper than last Amazon post @ $70.99

A set of two bayonet Philips Hue white bulbs plus a Hue hub. You can connect to up to 10 lights with the Hue bluetooth app, or up to 50 with the hub that comes with this kit. More details at the link. Probably most useful for those in the Hue ecosystem. Comments in the last post seemed fairly positive for Philips Hue lights. We have a handful of Philips Hue lights and a hub, but have gone for cheaper options on the other lights. This seems to be a great price for the Philips Hue.

These are a warmish white only - you'd want to get the "Ambiance" range if you want to be able to modify the colour temperature from cool white through to warm light.

There's some Top Deals on Philips Hue products at the moment too.

Credit to shppngtrlly where I saw this deal, and rock-bottom for wording from last post.

Strangely, I see Free prime delivery on Fri Jan 13 while logged into Amazon Prime, but Free delivery (non Prime) of Wed Jan 4 in an incognito window. Both from Amazon AU.

  • Good deal if you're ok with the dimmer globes

    • The new ones are the same brightness in "warm white" mode. A bit brighter at 1100 lumens in "cold white", which fewer people prefer, and the difference is barely noticeable anyway. Remember, you perceive brightness on a logarithmic scale.

FYI: Brighter "ambiance" lamp is only $20 at Ikea, compatible with Hue hub, E27 only.

      • I have both Ikea and Philips bulbs at home connected to a Hubitat C7 using zigbee. Have been using them for more than 6 months. So far, the Philips bulbs had no problem. Couple of Ikea bulbs went "dead" suddenly (no response to the hub) but they worked fine again when I swapped them. Some people on the Hubitat forum said because Ikea bulbs do not 100% conform to the zigbee standards but they are absolutely fine if you use Ikea hubs.

        • I use IKEA bulbs with Hue hub, and very, very occasionally one of them needs to be power cycled, ie turn off and on at the physical switch. I think it was the old firmware. New ones are fine.

  • I wish the colour one is on sale

  • Nice deal, was looking to get a bridge. Cheaper to buy this kit instead of the standalone bridge.

Sorry for those who missed out on the lower price, that deal didn't last long. Thanks to whoever marked deal as out of stock.

Saw this just come back into stock with 1 available, so I grabbed it. Unsure of what I'll actually use it for, maybe some bedside lamps. Probably worth it just for the bridge anyway

Edit: Also looks like Kogan has some: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/philips-hue-9w-a60-b22-set-huew…
