Anova Precision Cooker Nano $124.99, Precision Cooker Pro $324.99 Delivered (Save 49%) @ Anova

50

Not the lowest these have been by the looks but fairly close. I have another brand so can't comment on this unit in particular but have enjoyed the general sous vide experience to date. I've managed to turn out the best steaks I've ever cooked by a long margin.

Precision Cooker Pro

I got lured to the site for the 40% discount on their containers which is also a decent deal if you're after one and not content with a random pot or container.

I think I've seen one of these in my wife's handbag…

  • Shame their ovens are not on sale too.

  • A Container that is suitable is a must. Costco had a pack for $240 @ weeks ago.

    I paid about $140 for a 3rd party one on Amazon/Ebay recently.

    • I just picked up the 16l anova one for $88 plus postage. Seemed a reasonable deal.

    • Have ben using an Anova for years,.

Sons Inkbird seems to perform just as well.

I have always used whatever ever size saucepan or pot I need depending on what I am cooking.

I have not had any issues with uneven temperatures.

What is the advantage a an Anova container ($89 plus post on special for 16L)?

      • +1

Personally i found that the water circulation was hard to maintain in a large pot as there was noting to keep the bags from floating about. The anova container has racks in the top to keep things in place that are built into the lid. Certainly a first world problem, but i like things that are fit for purpose.

        • With a vacuum sealer or effective displacement so there's no air will help prevent this. But I've also resorted to putting a heavy bowl or other items to stop it floating in the past

        • bulldog clip a spoon or knife to the bag side or end. bonus points for heat retention

    • I use my instant pot as the container, it's well I sulated and has the little rack thing I can put sideways to hold bags in place.

The silicone ANOVA cover is probably the most important thing to stop heat loss and evaporation when using non-anova containers

      • or…a sheet of cling wrap + teatowel

no need to spend $90+ on purpose built containers imo

        • I got mine on the last huge sale so it was worth it, not full price obviously 😅

With how often I use it, the cover was worth it after so long Messing around with cling wrap / tea towels

          • @TheFlyingCoder: haha fair enough

the hassle avoidance is definitely true

cling wrap tea towel is just the ghetto ozbargain way
