Highly recommend this fan, had it for 2.5years.

  • Are DC fans actually quieter than normal fans? or does the quietness come from it not moving as much air?

    • +1

Most of the quietness comes from being able to go slower than level 1 of an AC fan.

Great for the bedroom at night, or a study during the day etc.

Also good as I've always found level 1 too fast for sleeping anyway

It is still slightly quieter at similar speeds to an AC fan, but it's negligible at that point.

    • +1

I have couple different DC and cheap AC fans, DC fans generally quieter because
1 it can run very low speed, sometimes near silent
2 most DC fans has better build quality, better quality fan blades and casing. Usually quieter at the same speed but still can be loud when turn it up.

  • Are DC fans available as a wall mount version?

Looks like the one I did a review on last year

      thanks for your review.

Great comprehensive review. You raised a lot of good points and useful observations. That's my review of your review.

      • haha thanks damfrog

  • Bought one for about $50 long time ago. This one is much better than the Viomi Smart Fan.

    • It's in a different class. The build quality shits all over the viomi fan

  • Anyone know if you can turn the LED display off on this fan? I'm a pretty delicate sleeper

    • +1

The led turns itself off after about 10-20 seconds.

  • Thanks, ordered one. Got the Viomi fan from Aldi last week but couldn't resist getting this one as well.

  • How does this compare to the Kambrook DC fans? … And what happened to them? Seemed to have vanished. Those were/are pretty good

  • can this fan be added to google home?

    • I doubt it. This fan is not a smart fan (it does not connect to any apps).

  • A very quiet and good fan.

I have been using both the basic Kogan fan and this premium fan. Only thing I would complain about this premium model is users cannot switch to a particular speed level (12 in total) instantly, as you can only switch to the next level up. This is a bit annoying as I almost always only use level 1-4 as level 5-12 is too much to me. It’s annoying having to skip level 5-12 every time I want to switch from level 4 to 1.

I also wish there were more height options.

But overall a very good value fan to me. Has all features I want (e.g sleep, quietness etc). I bought it at $69.99 back in early 2020.

  • I have the cheapo 40cm fan from Kmart currently, and I’m trying to figure out how much more powerful this one would be but I’m absolutely failing

  • This or the Xiaomi Smartmi Fan 3? Its available for $179 from Kogan. https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/xiaomi-smartmi-pedestal-fan-3-x…

I liked the 20 hour battery aspect.

    • +1

The Smartmi fan is great, has a built in thermostat that you can use for automations overnight. ie. if temp exceeds 22 degrees, turn on etc.

The battery aspect was exciting, but I'll be honest, I haven't used it once.

      • Sweet ordered.

        • I received this fan. Unfortunately, it looks like the fan blade lock nut could not be removed at all. Kogan has sent a faulty one. Has this happened to anyone else?

          • @Chhaava: Mine arrived last week and it seems fine to me. Did you get in touch with Kogan? I did notice the plug point is EU and not AU based.
