Thanks Hamboi, inb4 someone asks if this can be used to recharge.

  • How does the international roaming work if I already have a boost sim for 12 mths? website says $40 for 14 days - I only need for receiving any emergency texts / calls while on my upcoming overseas trip for a month. Anyone used able to share please?

  • What happene if don't activate, no cashback ? Still has one previous deal

    • +2

You need to activate within 30 days or ordering, or no cashback.

      • i see, thanks

  • I still could not put anything in the "payment details" section. Either using CashRewards mobile app, mobile browser, or laptop browsers. All 3 text boxes were disabled

Switched to Boost on the last deal for a $3 profit and glad i didn't buy one of the 365 day deals. Reception is bad at home compared to Vodafone.

Would advise anyone looking to switch to use one of these deals to check coverage before committing.

    • They have VoWifi, so bad reception at home is not much an issue

        • But with 140-300GB/year I don't think it's feasible for that purpose

          • +2

@Averell: The scheme is: Only buy multiple $30/$40 28-day SP like this deal. Getting paid to use internet continuously, without recharge.

      • That's true, however mainly concerned about SMS since I use Android and my partner is on an iPhone.

Reception at work isn't great either and work Wi-Fi has strict blocking that will prevent VoWifi from working. Rather than turning it on and off between work and home, I just leave it off.

    • Found the same to be in an area where i spend alot of time in. Optus and vodafone 300mbps, telstra around 1mbps if your lucky.

I got three sims for family visiting from the last deal and all three didn't work in different phones, despite boost chat saying they were active. I got three $2 boost sims from Coles and all worked straight away. I must have been very unlucky. I use Boost myself and have never had a problem. YMMV

    • Thanks for the info. I'll test the SIM signal before activate it, to avoid manufacture faulty issues.

      • How to check sim signal?

        • +1

If it is faulty, your phone can not detect it (as if it were not inserted). I had the experience of porting a number to a faulty SIM.

I've bought maybe a dozen of these deals for Boost sims over the year and they have all worked. I will buy another in a few days as I am just about to start a new sim. I don't recall anyone else having issues with their sims not working either. Not sure what went wrong. Wish I could help you out.

    • All mine have worked before. Even the ones I used in IOT devices.

I’d suggest the international devices not compatible with the frequency of operation for Boo$t

      • I tried one of the faulty sims in my own phone, which is on boost, and it didn't work. The three sims from Coles worked straight away.

        • Strange!

    • @thriftylashes It happened to me too..

    • happened to me too. Horrible experience actually getting it working, took up my entire evening from their own mistake.

    • I had a faulty sim from Boost once as well.
Contacted Support and they sent me a replacement sim straight + another 28 days for free.

    • +1

Just tried my latest boost sim and it too didn't work. 1st time this has happened. Now I'm unsure if I should bother with this deal. I'm actually thinking of buying one from a shop Woolies/Coles when they are selling them for $10 and if they don't work then, at least I'll get my money refunded.

  • Not sure how other places go but I ordered one from a previous deal on 6 Dec. Got it yesterday so 17 days to be delivered to Perth. Previous to that it was 10 days till received.

  • how many boost prepaid can one activate?
Had been using one every 3-4weeks from previous deal.
Unable to active a new sim now.

    • It is better to manage them under one Boost/Telstra ID as discussed in the previous deal.

      • it passed the ID verification. once email and address entered. I said somethig wrong, go to store. It is reach the limit one can have an active/expired sim

        • Last time I activated one after Boost ID login, ID verification is not required.

          • @Neoika: it used to be that way to me too. Will keep trying

    • I make sure to cancel the sims after ive used it up.

      • How? Can't find that in the app, do you have to message / call them for that?

        • +1

Live chat will do, will take less then 10 mins and should prevent this problem… I think

      • will try this

    • +1

Went to chat . The second chat activated for me. Even with Telstra id verified with all my pass boost services. Id check is needed again.

      • +1

Did you also tell them to cancel your other sims?

It will help you next time because as long as you have less than 5 sims per account, you should be able to activate without going to the telstra store/online chat/13 22 00.

So you can activate 4 more sims every time you talk to online chat.

        • Thanks for this info. You registered an account to make this comment!

        • No I did not. Been told there is no limit. I would do that later.

  • Perfect timing, just activating the previous one today, will be ready for the next one in 28 days (less than 30) :-)

  • Thanks OP - ordered one

  • I hate to be 'that person' but any eta on eSim capabilities?

    • The @boostmobileau rep might be able to help out here

    • Hi there!

eSim is definitely coming to boost mobile soon but we are unable to disclose any time frame yet sadly.

      • Cheers

Be aware. Last two times I ordered, it looked like the orders didn’t go through as I got an error message instead of an order confirmation. Cashback didn’t track. Still got charged, got delivered the SIMs but no way to get order number to submit inquiry through Cashrewards.

    • Yikes!

    • same thing happened to me
ordered three on 29 November. The first two went through no problem. Got the order confirmation number and it tracked with cashrewards and got delivered.
the third one however got the dreaded screen of death ‘something is wrong’ message. No order confirmation email and no tracking but the money was still taken out of my account and it never got delivered
it’s been a saga trying to get a refund back from boost. Just seems too hard for them to track the transaction.
Almost a month and no progress what so ever.

  • What's the cheapest Sim for longer periods?

Looking for another number just to set up some multiple accounts, I won't be using it much so I don't need much data.

I spose a month for free is good to set up, but then you receive texts to confirm this and that.

    Thanks

    • Aldi Mobile or Amaysim both let you use it for a year, so you can just get the minimum/cheapest package (never seen Aldi on offer but its $5 in store for a sim with $5 credit that lasts a year / Amaysim often have offers if you want to wait a few weeks you can find on ozbargain/CR/Shopback/ww/coles specials) Amaysim is $10 min I think, but their packs are a lot cheaper than Aldi if you do want to add a data pack. Depends what you need and when you need it.

      • Thanks

  • Can i port from Kogan Esim to this? Kogan jibbed me one month of my voucher so had to sign up for a free esim today and nfi how to manage it…
