  • how do you pronounce this brand? "GAYLE?" or more like "Geel" like Gillette

    • +1

      I thought its like jail.

    • -1

      "geel" for me

    • ei = ay

  • Is this bad? Why is it so cheap?

    • Would also like to know.

It is on clearance and there are a few things to note:

      • Timing is subpar for DDR4-3000. It is not an issue if you plan to use it on an Intel board. It will probably be okay for AMD Ryzen if you have no intention to run 4 DIMMs nor overclocking.
      • Most people would normally aim for at least DDR4-3200 nowadays (some people prefer DDR4-3600), making DDR4-3000 not popular. The only exception is Micron E-die DDR4-3000 CL15, which is known to overclock quite well.

Once you added in postage, it is $111.

      • I have 3000mhz Cl18 ram and have not noticed any problems with it. It's really only a minor difference in performance, just depends how much you are willing to spend.

        • +5

Yes, it is all relative. It really comes down to whether you want to save cost or you prefer to spend more and get something slightly better.

We recently saw a DDR4-3600 2x16GB kit (Samsung C-die) for $119.95. Yes, it is $20 more expensive.

I was just explaining why these were discounted.

          • @netsurfer: Yep I got that and I'm running it at 3866mhz CL18 although it needed 1.5v to make it stable but it still runs cool. tRC I had to push out from 62 to around 70 but other than that it's pretty fast for the price.

            • @4foxache: Yeah, personally, I'd much rather Samsung C-die DDR4 RAM modules than this DDR4-3000. One of my Ryzen motherboards is picky on RAM modules.

  • Super Luce link does not work

    • +1

      They removed it

  • -1

    This is DIMM or Sodimm?

    • C’mon man
