Just an FYI this is a nerfed RTX 3060, and although it is officially called [RTX 3060 8GB], it has a double digit performance difference compared to it's 12GB VRAM sibling. It's not just the VRAM that is slashed, but also memory bandwidth

    https://www.techspot.com/review/2581-nvidia-rtx-3060-8gb/

I'll be creating a new product tag for this to prevent buyer confusion. Please tag it as Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 8GB in future. Thanks

~15% average slower, Jacket Man wins again

    • I almost shared it in my Shopping Express mega post and had to double check if it was a typo. Nope it's been nerfed.

Awful value, especially considering this is the cut-down version. 6700xt at $499 just absolutely annihilates it.

    • To be completely fair that 499$ deal is on centrecon who will not honour any price once they found out it’s on ozbargain. Nevertheless I agree with you that this card is not worth the price at all, many 3060 12gb were under the 450$ mark and ATL for 6700 (non xt) was 449$ which makes this a no deal.

    • +1

I agree about the value but that 6700 XT deal was barely available. Wouldn't be surprised if they only had <10 units available to draw in customers who will hopefully look at other cards "close enough" to purchase.

    https://www.umart.com.au/product/pny-geforce-rtx-3060-dual-1… - $499 12G non nerfed
    https://www.umart.com.au/product/inno3d-geforce-rtx-3060-twi… - $499 12G non nerfed

Better of spending $20 more for 4G vram and better performance.

Jensen the magician charges the same price and delivers less and no one blinks an eye, we now have shrinkflation on GPUs lol.

  • +6

    don't advertise this crap.

  • Oh damn, thought this would be a good deal. What's the best price/performance for under $600 these days? I'm still rocking a gtx1070

    • +3

If you dont want to go 2nd hand then Id say 6700xt. $599 at Scorptec.

      • I think the 6700xt is the best bang for gamer atm, but i am afraid it can't feed the 3440x1440@90+ very well in general 3a high setting, is that right?

    • +3

Probably the 6700 at the moment. Centrecom have one for $460 at the moment and it looks like the standard price is around $480 now.

      Example from PCCG for $480

Ok so what's a good 479 NVIDIA option. I'm still running a older i7 gigabyte machine with a GTX 970.

    • +2

^ check above you, another ozbargainer posted links from umart of unnerfed 3060s for 499$ + shipping

  • +3

Negging this as it’s a cut down 3060. Not a deal

  • +1

Not a deal. You can become a non cut down 3060 at rrp price lol

  • What about this one?
