    • what did you upgrade to?

Interesting feedback from the past month:

“Dell have advertised this item for sale clearly knowing they had no stock to deliver. … This type of misleading sale violates Aus consumer law. Order has been cancelled and compensation should be provided for not honouring sales agreement.”

    Vertical Alignment (VA) display technology

    For those wondering

  • Keen to try this monitor as a replacement for an Alienware 34” IPS which hurts my eyes. Aside from slightly lower refresh rate and colour/contrast etc, the biggest problem I may have is non native support for G-Sync which doesn’t work below 60fps - MS FS2020 is a killer. Any thoughts or recommendations?

    • why alienware hurts your eyes?

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-34-curved-wqhd-ultrawide-…

Alternative option. Different of course. Check specs/Google to see what suits your needs.

    • Pros: USB-C and 165Hz refresh rate
      Cons: 6ms response time

      • How is the image quality? I have never seen a real Kogan monitor

        • +1

On paper should be about the same. But it depends on the panel, both Dell and Kogan buy their panels from 3rd party OEMs like Samsung, AU Optronics and LG etc.

Pros: USB-C and 165Hz refresh rate
        Cons: 6ms response time

        Con: It's a Kogan

        • Exactly, therefore it doesn't sell like hotcakes, even though it's cheaper and trumps this Dell in specs.

    • Kogan is so trash. My monitor from them was a nightmare.

      • In what way sorry? I've used one for basic office use and found it no different to an older Samsung 34" with the same screen res.

    • whats the cheapest ultrawide with usb-c for office use? would it be this kogan?

    • -2

The USB-C only does 1080p60 which makes it useless

      • +1

I have seen several people mention this, but I cannot find anywhere where it says that. I have gone through the page 3 times. Where does it say it?

  • Got the S3422dwg couple days ago for $550.

What's the difference between this and that?

    • +1

S3422DWG supports up to 144Hz refresh rate. this one is only up to 100Hz.

      • +1

Glad I went with the dwg then. Cheers mate

I had a chat with Dell rep and they are offering this for $550 with student email.

          • @NPB: Which Dell rep? How would I be able to get it for $550?

            • +1

@slix_88: dell website , chat with them , they will verify your .edu.au email address first , once verified they will send an email with the purchase link

              Thanks

@NPB: Mazeeb’s back boys and girls!!

@Rainmmaker: he is online chatting with me, trying to get a price for Dell S3423DWC 34" Curved USB-C Monitor

              • @NPB: Did you end up settling on a price you were happy with to purchase?

                • @Easy Money: This time Muzeeb was only able to do 15% off the online price.

                  • @NPB: This wasn't Muzeeb. If it was him, he could have got 50% off.

          • +1

@NPB: thanks mate, i chatted to a dell rep and they did the same

    • Where was that?

  • I had one since last year, paid $480, very happy for it.

How does it work with MacBook pro M2?

    • +1

Dell advised that this is not compatible to MacBooks .

  • +1

Is this a monitor made for the home office. Spreadsheets, pdfs, word processing etc?

    • Not a fan personally. I don't like VA panels, as you move your head you see the colour shift. This gets worse on an ultrawide. For home office I'd stick with IPS panels.

  • +2

If this was USB-C I’d be in!

    • saaaaaameee :’(

  • lol was contemplating getting one, came back home looked at my 27" 4k and imagined that going a couple inches wider sideways

    nah! won't fit lol. pass

glad I didn't get one earlier this year, there was a good deal at some stage

this is a good deal though

  • Hi should I get this Dell S3422DW or Lenovo 34 G34W which currently on sale for $499 ???
Mainly iam using it for work not gaming. Thanks for your advice 😊

  • It this good for productivity?

    No gaming. I have a PS5, but I understand requires 4K.

Just work, plug in laptop and/or music production.

    • It this good for productivity?

      depends..
if you gaming all day on it, then NO

      • I said no gaming.

        • +1

you missed the point of the comment..

A monitor is as productive as the person using it.

If you think you have actual real life use/need for this
that makes you more productive then only you would know the answer.

Some people prefer 2 or 3 separate monitors for productivity
Some people prefer a single ultrawide (equivalent to 2 monitors) for productivity
Some people prefer a 49 inch monitor ultrawide (equivalent to 3 monitors) for productivity
Some people prefer 5 or 6 monitors/screens for productivity

          • @pinkybrain: Ideally I need something this size, with a side monitor.

I just get confused about scaling and what's more suitable for midi sequences.

  • Just purchased this. And I got a message will be delivered by 4th February. So if you are expecting this monitor to pop in on your desk when you start work next year, you may be disappointed.

    • wow that is a long time to delivered..
1 month should be over before you know it..
but disappointing if you want to enjoy it now.

    • Yea it said that but mine arrived today. In Brisbane. Just FYI. Hope yours has arrived or arrives soon!

      • Mine also arrived on 9/1. I used to have 2 monitors and now this ultrawide monitor is a step up from the previous setting.

    • I got this in the first week of January.

  • anyone knows does this one have built-in DELL mounting support e.g. VESA Adapter Plate included in the package, or need to purchase seperately?

  • +1

Very good price, I'd be in if it had USB-C!

    • This. I'm also looking for an affordable USB-C monitor in this size and price range.

  • Would the AOC CU34G2X be better if was same price?

  • How is this monitor compared to the Xiaomi Mi Curved 34" Monitor which was advertised last month for $427 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/739774?page=1#comment-1317…)?

    • Xiaomi Mi Curved 34" has faster refresh rate of 144Hz, more in common with the S3422DWG, while this monitor only has 100Hz.
