I want to buy two of these to use them as surrounds for my Beam

    • +2

I’d get two of these, rotate them, and use as left right front tower speakers. Should be awesome. Haha 😂

      • +1

I was so disappointed you couldn't use the Rays as surrounds. I guess they are coming out with a new speaker next year. I've been hoping for a replacement for the 3 but using the new technology they got from purchasing Mayht.

      • +5

If you're rotating them, also consider using them as speaker stands for other speakers

  • +6

Good deal for first post OP.

  • +6

Awesome first deal OP, closest to cheapest price ever.

Would buy if I was in the market for a soundbar

  • Any deal on the sub?

    • Seems to be cheapest I can find at $850 (same store) and on Selby.

  • -4

Meh. Surely we are paying a lot for the brand here. 5% off doesn't make much difference to the price at this point unless you were planning to buy anyway.

    • +3

From $1499 to $1065 is close enough to 30%

  • +4

For anyone who isnt set on getting "sonos" brand, i cant recommend q990b enough. Its same performance for 1/3rd the price when you consider sub and surrounds.

    • You're not wrong. but the sonos just works with the app setup and has better styling for a better "look" or asthetic in my opinion. I was aiming for a all in one bar dealio that gets as close to the q990b experience as possible and felt that the Beam or Arc or the Bose9 model would have got pretty close for a little extra, the multi room stuff for sonos can't be beat tho, samsungs apps are terrible.

      • And if you want rears you can hide in the ceiling, Sonos at least has more flexibility if you combine with a Sonos Amp for the rears (though the overall price is probably double or more)…

    • I have the 990B in my living room, and the Sonos Beam Gen 2 with two One SL surrounds in my bedroom. Both are awesome soundbars. I love my Sonos a little more though as I can use the app to set an alarm for SEN and listen to sports first thing in the morning, plus seems the perfect soundbar for smaller rooms.

Amazing soundbar have one in theatre room it’s dang good

  • is this cheaper than black friday sale?

  • Any deal on the sonos one?

    • $225 each from JB HIFI, if you have GC with 15% or 10% off from last week deal would bring price below $200

      • Its showing $319 from jb now?

  • The coupon is not valid for the currently selected payment method. ?
    Edit: Code worked now.

Picked up a Beam Gen 2 the other day, and feel like should have gone the Arc but wasn't sure if it would be getting a "gen2" soon..
I was thinking of getting a pair of one's to complete the surround setup just waiting for a sub 200 each deal on the SL's i guess
Anyone here do beam to arc and notice a more wow factor?

    • +1

I’m in exactly the same situation.. I went with the beam too. I’m certainly not disappointed, but I do wonder how much better the Arc would be..

      • +1

Same boat here. Don't think about it too much. Beam with 2 One SLs picked up at $225 each is perfectly adequate. 😀 Arc is a HUGE jump in price and it's a slippery slope getting into higher end audio I'd imagine…

    • +1

How long you gonna wait to save 25 bucks per speaker? Just grab them at $225 now at JB and be done with it I reckon. I got the Beam for Christmas, used it for a day, picked up an extra One SL next day as I had one already. Sounds AMAZING, the One surrounds easily make the overall experience 3x better. Just do it.

      • +1

        That’s the motivation I needed

        • +2

Hahahahahah. Enjoy em man. Life's too short for average sound!

  • Almost had a heart attack OP, i bought this yesterday from Harrveys for 1193 + 10% back in gift card, i paid $1074, but at least i picked it up that day XD, almost got FOMO from this price.

    • +1

I also bought one at Harvey Norman yesterday, but got them to price match Videopro price of $1150. Ended up getting the 10% GC too which I put towards a Sub 3 (which I also got price matched to Videopro for $850), and then used the 10% to take $85 off 2 x Sonos One SL ($450 at HN)..so payed $2250 for the Arc, sub and 2 Ones.. With $45 gift card left to spend at HN, and it's all set up in my living room. Pretty happy!

  • -3

    A whopping ~7%?

  • Thanks OP, finally pulled the trigger!

    • Any sign of shipment?

      • +1

I messaged the business to stagger my shipment as I’ll be away for the next week. They replied and said they’ll ship later anyways as they don’t trust freight companies this time of year.

Anyone weighing up Sonos v Samsung 990, this is a great comprehensive comparison review: https://youtu.be/Ympy-ECy6uQ

    • +1

In summary, the guy doing the review chooses the Arc!

      • +4

        Small correction;

He chose the Sonos arc "system" combination.

Which is the arc, subwoofer and the two seperate speakers.

        Significantly more expensive

  • -2

    Soundbar vs Surround System ???

  • This is great price. I bought my Sonos Arc last year for $1k in July and couldn't be happier with it. Only thing I would like is being able to cast audio from PowerAmp music player to it which only works from its native app.

  • This sonos arc with its bass or Samsung Q990B

    • If you want sonos ecosystem and already have sonos products, sonos.

      If not q990B

    • Arc, sound wise there isn't a lot in it, but the Sonos systems can always been updated when new speakers are released, where as the Samsung system is one and done with no room to update.

Sonos speakers can also be repurposed.

  • Haven't seen it any cheaper. Bought for 1100 few weeks back by negotiating at tgg. Nice one op.

  • I got it at the Sonos store since cashback says its 12% off @ 1200 but not sure if its gone through

We have one of these, the gen 3 sub (got for $700 on a great deal a long while ago) and paired it with two ikea symfonisk bookshelf speakers. It's an amazing setup!

ikea symfonisk speakers are $199, and are basically a Sonos One in a different box.

  • Awesome price. Thanks OP. Just need a Gen3 sub to have a good price now hahah

  • +1

I reckon you're better off getting an actual AVR + book shelf speakers.

    Pioneer VSX-534 5.2ch AV Receiver $698.00

Monitor Audio Monitor 100 Bookshelf Speakers $257.00

    $955 without any discounts.

You can upgrade speakers later on and add a sub if you wish.

Audio will be way better than a soundbar.

    • +3

id agree if you're only listening to music - but we went from bookshelves (usher s520) and an AVR (denon avr3310) to the samsung q990b and love it for tv/movie content. its so much more immersive than the two bookshelves.

i do miss the speakers when it comes to music, but most of the time we just have it on in the background. i used to occasionally sit and enjoy music on the couch, now i sit and enjoy top gun maverick instead :D

Deal on the sub = subdeal on checkout

    • Which sub?

      • sonos gen 3

        • Black or white? Tried subdeal with the white and no bueno

          • @Nuggets: Still working now, make sure you are in checkout not cart, and the payment method isn't afterpay.

Always have so much trouble with wifi and my Sonos devices.

    • ive had endless problems with BOSE wifi also (delays & disconnections). Ended up pulling them out keeping just 1.

      • Just got onto Sonos product support. They ran the remote diagnostic and confirmed what thought, the network card in the Playbase is faulty. They offered a free replacement, nearly 4 years after I purchased it, over the online chat support! Amazing.

  • how to get around the "The coupon is not valid for the currently selected payment method." message?

  • Coupon not valid :(

    • still working for me

      • Tried a few times. Is it only through afterpay or something?

        • First time didn't work, then somehow it worked since. First add to cart, then go to View Cart and apply the coupon, even before you go to checkout. Then checkout with whatever payment method.
