  • how does this one compared to Delonghi one? I literally has this one in my basket but was a bit wary about warranty matters. Previous post says it comes with 2 yrs international warranty however I can't find Krups have a OZ website? Anyone has the machine care to share the info plz?

    • I got one from back in December when they were on special at amazon Spain. I haven't had any problems at all.

    • They are one and the same. Also, Krups australia will honour the warranty

      Great little machines these ones!

      • -1

This looks very similar to the DeLonghi that Harvey Norman had on their EOFY super Saturday for $148….!!??

They were taking rain-checks on them too.

    • I always look at it this way: as long as the percentage I save on my purchases significantly exceeds the percentage of chance that it breaks down, then on the long term I make a profit. In other words: I am willing to buy 35% cheaper and forego the warranty if the chance of it breaking down is significantly less than 35%.

      • +1

Except here you are actually getting a couple of years local warranty.

        • hence the "significantly exceeds" :)
Just a small discount is of course not worthwhile.

  • How much are the coffee pods? Cheaper purchased online and overseas or same as retails here?? Can it use any brand pods or must be same brand?? I

    • I buy directly from nespresso. A cup of coffee costs me 60 cents. The machine is bloody good absolutely no complaints. makes amazing coffee. totally worth it. I ordered it a long while ago, it had come from italy

    • exclusive to Nespresso (OEM)

    • you can get refillable pods that you fill up with your own ground coffee.

      • that's true, however the hassle of doing grinding, cleaning, kind of voids the merits of the "auto" machine?

        • you can buy pre-ground beans. i re-use the purchased pods. just wrap with glad wrap

        • It takes the same amount of time as grabing the milk out of the fridge and grabbing a coffee cup. You scoop the coffee and close the lid, if you want something more automatic than that… go hire a butler?

You can buy ground coffee from almost anywhere now, gloria jeans, starbucks or woolies. I prefer consuming my beans within a week of being ground. Not sure how long the nespresso's have been sitting in their pods for.

    • Basically your locked into Nespresso branded pods

Much cheaper on overseas sites, but shipping cost and hassle make it unattractive

Edit: as mentioned you can use the refillable pods

but it is a hassle and you cannot fit the same amount of coffee into them so your quality experience varies YMMV

  • The one on the Spanish Amazon site is EUR168, which is about AU$200:
    http://www.amazon.es/Krups-Nespresso-XN7106-Citiz-Negro/dp/B…

But it's hard to navigate through the site because of the language, so I am not sure if shipping is included in this price.

    • that one currently won't ship here.. Use Chrome it translates on the fly..

    • Yeah, I had noticed it but as simong said it won't ship here.

    • I noticed the same thing on the Italian Amazon is EUR172,90. Taking off VAT and adding on EUR58,00 shipping it costs EUR200,89 (AUD242) to get it shipped to Australia so the UK deal is significantly better.

    • Sorry dupe.

  • I tried to proceed to the checkout, but it says it won't ship to my destination… oh well

    • Oh wait, its just the Titanium one that won't ship to my address. Guess I'll have to get the Fire Engine Red one then…

      • +2

the red one looks way better any way.

        • I put my order in last night thinking the red looked 'ok', but after a good nights sleep I was thinking the red one looks awesome hehe, reminds me of the red Cibo cafes use :D

  • Thanks, ordered one :) can't wait!

  • BUY BUY BUY this machine! Bought one back in December when they were closer to $200 thanks to the stronger Aussie dollar. Still going very strong and still looks & works as new.

Did the calcs and based on 2-3 cups of coffee per day using original Nespresso Capsules and taking the cost of Milk and Filtered Water into account these machines pay for themselves after around 5-6 weeks (based on spending $4-$4.50 per coffee at the coffee shop). No brainer, just do it.

    • Oh… and I recently bought an Xpressi from ALDI to use at work. Cheap & Cheerful and the coffee tastes just as good BUT the Nespresso machine & capsules have a much better design and are a higher quality for sure. You definitely get what you pay for when you compare the two.

  • Would I need a AU plug / energy converter?

    • Yep, just get one from Dicksmith or something, still making a huge saving
