It was $471.9 on previous deal

    It was actually $399

But it's actually cheaper from Titan_Gear at $397.70

    • Thanks for sharing, good pick up! yea Titan gear is $1 cheaper :)

      • Thanks OP

Thanks CVonC got one from Titan_Gear yesterday

  • Damn - bought the 3 pack x55 from amazon for 369 just before xmas. Is there much real world difference?

    • +2

You might see a difference if you're using the wireless backhaul since this is tri band with a dedicated wireless backhaul, whereas the x55 is dual band with no dedicated backhaul.

you may eligible for a bonus light strip as well via redemption, but I am not sure who the paticipant retailers are, worth a try

    • Got my x60 last week for $369 :S

  • Still holding out for a price drop on the wifi 6e units.

  • Wow. That Xcover thing. One of the points is covered for "damage during transport". The really trying to upsell that extra cover.

  • Sorry for being noob but how is these compare to Netgear orbi?
    NETGEAR Orbi Whole Home WiFi 6 Tri-Band Mesh System (RBK752) | AX4200 Wireless Speed (Up to 4.2Gbps) | 2 Pack https://amzn.asia/d/7yzDLOX

    Thanks

Better AX than this, but you get one less satellite, so your totak coverage is smaller

Netgear orbi 2 pack was for $411 few days back on amazon..orbi is better than tplink deco x68..but you get 3 pieces for cheaper than 2 pack orbi

  • Just got the eero 6+, I am guessing this is likely much better with the 3rd band for wireless backhaul? Or is it more overkill for NBN 100?

    • I’m in the same boat as you. I just thought it was a good time to upgrade as I could still offload my Orbi RBK50 for $180. Was waiting for a good price on the Asus XT8, but $600 for the XE75 was too good a deal I thought.

    • Eero and deco are in same league..you wont go wrong with triband wifi 6 deco for nbn 100

      • Thanks, agreed, they are definitely in the same leagu. I did some digging and found the reviews for both the eero 6+ and the Deco X68 with mostly the same testing conditions for a Wi-Fi 6 device.

From his charts, the eero 6+ has a slight disadvantage in pure performance closer to the mesh but wins out in performance over longer ranges. I suspect that the advantage offered by the tri-band somewhat compromises its performance at range.

My hunch is, for wireless backhaul cases at least, that you buy this if you want the most performance and have a lot of devices albeit at a shorter range and the deco x55 or eero 6+ if range is the priority instead and you can stay within their recommended connected devices limit. Equally you could go the no compromise route with things like the XE75 or the Orbi but that would cost you a lot more.

  • This or Orbi, double storey house. Please advise

    • Read the comments above and please advise

It also depends on your budget…orbi 3 system will be way expensive than deco 3 pack..

      • Happy to spend on orbi 3 if it will last for 5-10 years and works best.

        • +1

With technology changing so frequently..wifi 6 is not future proof for 10 years time..but if you dont want the latest tech..then you can choose either orbi or deco triband

      Cable backhaul for double storey!

      • From what I know that there are lan cable ports throughout the whole house that we are moving into.

If you've got an ethernet backhaul and not using a wireless one, you need to look into what these mesh systems do with their third second 5 GHz band if they're tri band. I think this Deco reserves the second 5 GHz channel for the backhaul so if you're not using it, you're not gonna be much better off than getting a cheaper dual band system.

I do think Orbis allow flexibility of their second 5 GHz band, but again you're going to have to look into that yourself.
