  • they really suffered selling these

The amount of issues the TV has, is why. It is an amazing picture when it works though

      • What issues does it suffer from

        • +11

Bent screens, colour gamut not working, tv only showing half the screen, flickering while gaming in HDR. Firmware updates keep nerfing features every time. Peak brightness has dropped since release by close to 500 nits. List goes on and on. Even the moderators of the owners forum have returned their TVs in the states! They were being used as beta testers for the company without knowing it

          • @Whisper Quiet: Shit. I was looking at an 75 inch model. Maybe I'll look elsewhere

              @Belv: these never come in 75 models…

@Whisper Quiet: Comments like these are why I love Ozbargain - I had no idea there were so many issues with firmware. Sounds like it might be worth avoiding Samsung QD-OLEDs until the next round when they’ve ironed out some of the wrinkles.

            • @Koin: Obviously the TV could work just fine for you. The quality control shown by Samsung has been pretty poor though. It was a rushed release by about 6 months. To make sure they did it before Sony, it shows that it really wasnt ready

          • @Whisper Quiet: Hmm, professional review like Rtings gave promising results though. Maybe the quality is varied by units.

@zyj494949: Their review was one of the first released. Firmware and all kinds of issues weren't apparent then. Samsung purposefully released the TV knowing they would scale it back after a month. So they could get the best reviews initially. Also Rtings doesnt test for many of the specific problems the TV has. 1-2 days doing generic pattern tests doesn't allow you to see everything from a TV. Yes it does vary by unit but the chances of getting these problems is quite high, some issues have always been there since day one.

LG laughing discreetly in the background.
Samsung should just stick to making QLED's.

Teething problems. First rule of consumerism - never buy first generation of anything.

      • and not to try/preorder the first batch of the second generation product!

LG oled had a lot of times to perfect their craft and sort out their Q&A

  • Are we still waiting for stock to arrive for 75" QN95B Neo QLED 4K Smart TV's? . Have not seen any deals on this model for awhile now. Hangin' out for a new TV

  • I bought the Sony aj80 and it's an excellent picture.

I bought the 75 inch and it's working just fine. To be fair, I have only been using it to stream netflix and disney+.
    I haven't tried gaming yet.

You got a QLED, this is a QD-OLED totally different display
