Even if different brands, I'm 0retty sure it's the exact same item

    https://www.bigw.com.au/product/eko-1080p-projector-with-inf…

    • Yeah seems pretty similar.

That one says EKO as the brand

      • +1

Despite McGruber's love for Blaupunkt, the brand is just not worth the extra ~$120.

        • +3

Blaupunkt hasn't been a reputable brand in 15 years. They sold the brand name and now the highest bidder makes the lowest quality shit under that name.

        • +6

EKO and Blaupunkt are the same thing.

2 brands of the same company

    200 ANSI Lumens.

That's pretty good…if your room is painted in Musou Black.

    • I'm pretty sure this is meant for outdoors, right?

      In which case…. even worse.

      • +1

I was about to say, I guess if you’re camping… In a cave maybe..

        • +1

Great, so only if Osama was still alive.

    • Should be ok in the dark. Not in a lit room.

It almost the same output as the expensive samsung freestyle ($800). There is better deals out there though.

  • +1

200 Lumes is bad - don't get this. Most portable projectors are 500 these days.

  • Save yourself $120 and get this instead from BigW. Pretty sure it's the same model, with EKO branding.

  • +3

Does it come with a puncture repair kit for the screen?

  • +1

I've got the EKO one and it's perfectly fine for watching movies at night. Cost me $200 and I just project on a white painted wall. Lower your expectations obviously but projecting 120" delivers a true cinema experience compared with say a 65" LCD.

This was $299 2 weeks ago. And just $197 currently at OW without the screen. https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/blaupunkt-…

    • +1

$197 for a 1080p projector with a local warranty isn't the worst thing you could buy.

  • I’ve looked at getting this inflatable screen from SCA withiout the crap projector for $159

    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p-blaupunkt-giant-inflatab…

Almost any projector is better than this if the specs are accurate.

    • I was thinking of the sca projector as well was down to $119 Boxing Day sale 25% off but I just did not know how good or crap it was. Reviews did not make me I have to buy lol.

I’m not interested in the projector just screen.
I was also interested in the target one for $129 different name but no reviews.

In the end I never bothered with any of the two

      • SCA screen is now $100

        • Wow was $159 then $119 with 20% Boxing Day sales now $100 lol but not sure if I can waste that money as probably crap if it drops more yes.
          It’s tempting though

    • SCA screen is now $100

  • Really blows the image up to a large size!

… until someone sneezes, then it really blows the image next door

  • This was $100 cheaper 2 weeks ago. Not a deal at all.

  • What about this one:
Mini Projector, CLOKOWE Native 1080P HD 8500 LUX WiFi Movie Projector Support 2.4G+5G, Home&Outdoor Portable Projector, Compatible with iOS/Android/TV Stick/HDMI/USB [100" Projector Screen Included] https://amzn.asia/d/9f9eUq5

It's half the price albeit comes with a smaller screen

    • No idea how bright that is, also doesnt support HDCP so you will have issues playing some content.

      • I got it.

Not bright enough for the day, but actually very decent at night

  • +1

The only thing about it is the motor needs to run all the time. It was the deal deflator for me.

    • All the large blow up projector screens use blowers. You don't need to deal with punctures and the blower motor is relatively quiet. Won't hear it from 3m away outside. But it does make it harder to use when camping without power.

  • +2

How can this be a deal, it was 295 last week at JB hi-fi

    • Why didn’t you tell us ?

      • Im fedup with these cheap projectors tbh, so I didn't consider it's worth even at 295.
