If that happened, you should all call the customer service line and complain. It's a matter of principle. Since they first contact you that they will fullfil the order that means acceptance of the price error. Don't hold back , demand to be honoured since you have the email stating that.

          • @Scrooge McDeal: This principle actually takes roots from the Constitition s 109.
            109. Inconsistency of laws
When a law of a State is inconsistent with a law of the Commonwealth, the latter shall prevail, and the former shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be invalid.
            https://www.aph.gov.au/About_Parliament/Senate/Powers_practi…
As such Commonwealth Bunnings HQ prevails over State warehouses
and latter emails are invalid lol:)

            • @[Deactivated]: Please find a good lawyer this is bloody outrageous

              • @boozler: Here Parliament House is full of lawyers. One of them is Scomo who is sitting at the backseats and available.

          • @Scrooge McDeal: I tried but 74 people Infront of me in phone queue

            • +2

@shap08: My speculation is that some stores(store managers) didn't want to lose money on that specific sale and decided to refund all purchases on the sweepers.

              • @Scrooge McDeal: Precisely what has happened. I now got a call from the customer service and the store manager i had chosen to pick up had cancelled the order but he was going to reinstate it and let the store know to organise a pick up so heading back to make the payment and get some odd looks there. I may try to use the giftcard they sent to purchase it 😅

Damn, Franco must have pulled some strings

    • Franco is the gift that keeps giving

  • Has anyone used the $50 eGift card yet? There's a link with the email and when I follow that nothing happens. I've checked my account just in case and there's nothing there too. What am I doing wrong?

    • +1

If you click on the link it should download the gift card into pdf file. Then go to you mobile downloads and it should be there. I hope that helps.

      • It was downloading an html file before and I couldn't change to a PDF file. After playing with it for a while I managed to fix it. Ta

Order cancelled without a voucher. Franco has won

    • +2

Called bunnings customer service. Registered for a call back. Apparently we are ozbargaining their call centre with cancellation emails being sent and no vouchers offered. Logged in a case and they will review in a day or two. Hoping to at least receive a voucher.

      • +1

Thanks for your service keep us updated

        • Will update again if i hear anything. Meanwhile people should log a case with them if they are in the same boat. It gives an option of call back when you ring their customer support so you are not waiting forever.

          • @Royale with cheese: Where did you log a case?

            • +2

@shap08: Called customer service. It says if you want a call back, press 1. Waited for 2 hours to receive a call back. The lady said they had a few people working on sweeper cancellations so she would lodge a case with them and gave me a reference number. I suspect if you are going to get a voucher, it will be for those who create some noise

              • +1

@Royale with cheese: "A small team is investigating these orders and will take some time to get back to you after their investigation is completed."

It's like they are investigating franco's disappearance.

            • +2

@shap08: "As previously mentioned in emails sent to you, there was a pricing issue in relation to the Karcher product. You have been one of the fortunate customers who was able to have one of the orders you placed fulfilled, which we are confirming at the moment with the supplier, and we will be in contact with you with further details on Monday.

Your orders were both cancelled, one of which was an error, and we are in the process of re-creating one of them now, as you were advised via email that you would be receiving one of the product in total. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with in the meantime til we are in touch on Monday."

I just sent so many emails that they are now sending me one

  • Used the $50 voucher to buy a dust pan and brush amongst other things with some change leftover for the next visit. Thanks Bunnings!

    • Conditions for use are for single use only so you may have nothing left on it. Use that expensive dust pan and brush well

      • +1

Not really, I get the change back in a $20 gift card and cash.

  • The T&Cs on my GC says that $9.95 max can be given back as change.

    • +2

That's in cash they give the rest in GCs.

Got the same email! Was supposed to be late January so this is arriving early as well as being only $22!

      • It was only $12.95.

Picked mine up today ! Cheers for the post OP.

    • Which store or state?

      • +1

Just picked mine up today too, Rocklea QLD. They said there were 7 others scheduled to pick up today as well.

      • Was in Victoria - Caroline springs

        • Nice one. Also in Vic but I'm in the eastern suburbs.

Hoping to get mine soon as I actually needed one yesterday to clear up leaves. Using a blower or rake in this case would've been very inefficient.

      • Picked up mine yesterday, At Maribyrnong VIC.

Saw a few more in the C&C area too.

  • I pick mine up tomorrow. For anyone else like me who has no trees or bushes that drop leaves, what are you going to do with it? Marketplace, gift?

    • How about sell to another OzBarginer who got a voucher instead of the sweeper they actually wanted ;)

      • +1

Happy to do that if anyone actually wants one. Delivery costs might just be a killer.

        • Post in classifieds. I’ve been waiting hoping for one in Sydney :)

        • Wonder whats the going market rate for them. I don't feel parting ways with my hard earned sweeper for $50 voucher (minus $13 for the sweeper) so actual profit of $37. I would rather keep mine for the future

Edit: couple of ads on marketplace asking for $180 to $250

  • Picked up today from Vermont South. Said they had about 20 waiting for collection :)

  • Just got a mysterious refund from Bunnings despite being promised one would be delivered this month….gutted!!

    • I would follow up.

    • +1

I had the same. Turned out that the store manager cancelled it. I complained with the customer support. They created a new order and i paid for it in store. I picked up a brand spanking new sweeper today

  • Got contacted to pick up at Chadstone Bunnings, Melb.

  • Mine's ready for pickup. Score!

Picked mine up tonight .Thanks Julius & thanks Bunnings .Winning !

  • Picked mine up today too. Only one for Murray Bridge store.
Gave it a whirl on the out door area, much quicker and easier than pushing the broom.

  • Anyone still waiting for contact from their local? I got the above email on the 18th saying it has been dispatched but nothing further. Cannon Hill, QLD

    • Try giving them a call - I called cannon hill this morning and they had received it but not updated it as ready for pickup

      • +1

I think you prompted them to update their system because I got an email & text saying it's ready for pickup!

  • +2

Picked up mine the other day. The girl at the counter was hesitant and giving it to me and went to check with another team member before handing over the goods.

    Thanks again Julius and Bunnings!

  • Just got a txt it's ready to be picked up, FNQ. lol winning

  • Picked up from Leppington, NSW today, so good!

  • +2

    Picked mine today
    Actually need this

    Thanks Frankie

And on a more serious note thanks to the OP for selflessly posting this deal.

  • Those who were promised and cancel what do you do? Call the store or another number

  • Has anyone tried the sweeper? What's the feedback on the product?

    • +1

Not as good as I was hoping it to be - ended up getting the blower out

Probably ideally used for dry leaves and a big open area without too many obstacles

      • +1

Oh, that's disappointing to hear. Thanks for sharing your experience.

    • +2

Similar to Peanut, may have set its expectations a bit high. But still quite helpful after getting used to it.

We have a large brick paved back yard with a 3 massive pine trees which dump a lot of fine leaf litter.
As well a long concrete paved alfresco area running along the side of the house. Both of which have pot plants scattered throughout, and we had not fully cleaned for a couple of months.

Poor pusher sweeper struggled in the backyard initially. It had no issue picking up the pine leaves, but it struggled due to the sheer quantity. The rear sweeper isn't strong, and if the bucket gets clogged, the sweeper will just stop working. We found that we had to occasionally tip the entire sweeper forward like a wheelbarrow. That way the litter gets pushed to the front of the bucket, rather than clog the back where it tries to sweep.

It made easy work of the alfresco area as its basically a few long straight runs.

Overall, combo'd it with a blower to get litter out of hard to reach places, then went over with the push sweeper. Works like a charm. And gave me incentive to clean up / sort out the pot plants. Just need to occasionally push sweep every now n then, and not let it build up like we did prior. >.<

Oh….and DO NOT GO IN REVERSE. The sweeper will fling stuff everywhere. If you do need to go backwards, lift up the rear so the brushes don't activate.

    • +1

Nice, but definitely wouldn't pay full price for it.

Works well in wide open areas, but soon as any nooks/indents no good.

Kids love it so its nice to have a relatively clean driveway now. Still using the blower and vac though.

    • +1

As others have said, not as effective as I'd hoped. But it does save your back. I was able to clean my driveway and carport pretty effectively. I was using a rake, broom and shovel before, which was hard work. With the amount of leaves I get though, it took several passes with the karcher sweeper to get them all, and I was emptying the container very regularly. The way it is designed the container gets about half full and then it starts missing debris and just spreading it around behind it. Once I was finished though, it was cleaner than it has ever been, since it picks up all the dust as well. I think as long as I am using it before the leaves form massive piles, it will work well. My wife was very impressed with the final outcome.
