Horrible deal, you're essentially paying almost 500 for that grinder considering you can pick up the dual boiler for 905 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/748321

Can you please recommend a similarly priced grinder? I am assuming you can get a much better one for that $500, yeah?

Requires commercial membership? I think this is a fairly good deal

      • +1

        NOT a good deal.
$905 at TGGC and $990 at TGG with $80 store cash.
        Breville smart grinder is $275
And that is not even taking into account asking for a further discount nor discounted gift cards.

Great combo. The black color catches easily though.

I got oracle for $1695. And with the gift pack, is this better deal than that? Used giftcards and also will hopefully get $80 storecash from TGG. Overall $1550 range for me for oracle

Who is negging it. I am just sharing my experience. Whats painful about it?

    • It depends what you are after. Oracle is a big step closer to an automatic machine but it is still very customisable. Having one machine instead of two appeals to many. It is a really nice machine. If you prefer to go further down the espresso rabbit hole you will have more fun the with dual boiler.

      • Fair enough. I just wanted a quick coffee in the morning without much hassle. I am always late so don't need too many gimmicks. Just a strong full bodied smooth…. latte

        • You should be very happy with the oracle.

          • @stufrase: I made my first coffee today and it was at par with a cafe. And hopefully i will learn more with time

Is this the only way to get the black model of the dual boiler?

    • I think so, but most prefer the stainless steal version as the black finish is easy to mark/ scratch

    • Well I bought one, yeah I think I could've saved $50-$100 if I bought silver and separate, but I don't think I care? I can't find black any other way, and there's a comment about black looking dirty, stainless steel is pretty bad, not sure if this can be worse.

      • Who are you convincing?

        • +1

Not you? I'm ok to pay more for this colour, it's not the best deal potentially, but its still a deal, a good one.

Honestly mate this is a terrible deal compared to just buying the BDB for 900~ and a seperate grinder.

This is the best price you can get on the black version of these OP, I've been watching for 6 months or so.

The grinder is also much better than most here claim. It's easy to use, matches the machine and grinds well.

Serious coffee nerds will want a single dose grinder but it's perfect if you have others that will use the machine but don't want to single dose.

I bought this set at this price in November. I have my own grinder (Varia VS3) my partner also uses the machine and she uses the Breville grinder. I use it too if making a milk drinks and the shot quality is surprisingly good.

No issues with the black marking or scratching so far.
