      It's often cheaper to book directly with the airline if you are going to add checked baggage.
      Taking Cebu Pacific Sydney to Manila dep 6th Sept ret 18th Sept as an example:
      Return Price with 20kg checked baggage (MyTrip) $532.44
      Return Price with 20kg checked baggage (booked with airline) $468.63
      And you get seat selection as well.
      MyTrip is charging $113.99 per leg for the 20kg checked baggage.
      Cebu Pacific charges $70 per leg for the 20kg checked baggage.

    Massive layover times for MEL-BKK flights. 10 hours?? I would prefer to spend my time by the pool or in a restaurant rather than stuck in transit for 10 hours. I know some may not mind but these flights are not for me.

    And going home via Jetstar. Not for me after seeing all the delays on TV including a turn around.

    I'm interested in going away in September, specifically to the Philippines (TBC which island but something touristy). Can anyone comment on whether going during typhoon season is a big no-no? I don't mind the rain and humidity of wet season. But not too keen on flight cancellations and destructive storms. Or is it still normal to visit Philippines in this season?

      There's always typhoons there don't worry about it.
      But I would avoid Cebu Pacific they cancel large slabs of flights without much notice and then you're left scrambling to find a flight at the last hour so you end up paying more at the end of the day
