Plus Products - jacked up prior to discount

    • +2

I'd hardly believe everything is jacked. AliExpress don't control the pricing of individual sellers and the sellers certainly don't bear the whole discount. Unlike eBay where sellers fund like 10% or more in a 15% off.

  • Noting that shipping will be heavily extended due to Chinese New Year

    • +3

AliExpress have picked up their game. Many 11/11 orders were arriving in 2 weeks instead of 2 months like previous years.

      • Agreed, I bought some packages pre-Christmas (to get ahead of the CNY delays) and they came very quickly.

However, the entire country shuts down in 8 days time, so I think it'll be touch and go whether things purchased tomorrow will get out of the country before then, and will therefore have their shipping time extended.

        • Is there a new holiday I don't know about? CNY is later this month.

          • -1

@Clear: Shutdown occurs earlier than the actual Day.
            Especially for road freight.

      • AliExpress is not a delivery company

        • No but their parent Alibaba is. They own Cainiao and it's heavily subsidised for AliExpress sellers.

Furthermore "AliExpress Standard Shipping" is sent to one of Alibaba's distribution hubs where "AI" is used to determine the best method of shipping the items to you. This is often where multiple small orders from different sellers are packaged together and why many orders take a couple of weeks to arrive now.

  • Any idea if there's going to be the usual monthly coupons? (I have no idea where to find them normally)

I wouldn't risk ordering anything from China for the next couple of months at least:

i still haven't received my 11/11 order via ali's consolidated mail but it is australia post's fault. it got to australia quickly but has been sitting at the local sorting centre for the last month

All jump on the China wagon, just don’t forget the COVID requirements prior to importing all this very - useful - essential- stuff into Australia.

  • Anyone else not having any luck at all getting refunds, reships for issues with orders?

They used to be good with it all but even after providing all evidence requested they always seem to side with the seller.

    • +1

The suggestion from other posts here is to pay using PayPal and use them as the means for refunds for non delivery or incorrect/issues with orders

      • Oh wow, total brain explosion I forgot that I started using PayPal for this exact reason.. silly season

  • Working for anyone?

    • Yes. Tested on many products on the sales page and they work fine.

      • Thanks for the reply, doesn’t seem to be working for me

        • +1

Are you trying it on a product you found on the sale page or something else?

          • @Clear: I was. Tried again this morning and it worked. Not sure what the issue was.

  • Looking at LCDs hardly any eligible for Plus.

  • Not recognised for one of the Plus items…

    • Seems to be only products from the sale page sadly.
