I've been looking for travel insurance that includes Zimbabwe - unfortunately a bunch of places exclude it!

Cover More looks good and thanks to tm001's past diligence I learnt about this coupon code which is still working! Don't know if/when it will expire but for now it is live.

Looks like fine cover to me, glad it includes Zim, but do let me know if you see any major issues!

    I've been going with fastcover for my most recent trips. Even with 15% off covermore is still more. FC always has 10% cashback from CR

    • actually that is incorrect. the comprehensive with travel delay isn't available except the highest policy with FC

  • Have travel insurance prices gone up a lot since 2019? Last overseas trip was in ‘19 and I only paid about $120 for 3 weeks to Vietnam - now it’s over $200.

  • was considering this but decided not to, checking the facebook comments like:

    "I will never take out or recommend Cover More Travel Insurance to anyone. First time I’m ever claiming and my experience with them has been awful. After 3 months being told to fill out the forms again. Delaying tactics. Very frustrating!!"

    "My 82 year old mother took out a big travel insurance amount to cover her 1 month trip to the US to see her daughter. She got Covid days prior to her departure and could not travel, nor will she be able to travel. My daughter has been trying since July to get her money refunded. She spent hours on the phone without anybody answering. She filled in a proper refund form online and never received a reply. She has since sent numerous emails, so have I…without any replies. My mother is a pensioner who relies on this money to live and pay her rent. When are you intending to refund her travel insurance?"

    "Be extremely careful in regards to the ”so called” Covid cover when you consider Covermore travel insurance. The initial pages on their website and the initial info on the benefits schedule indicates that cancellation & medical costs are covered in the event of covid diagnosis, however if you read the entire policy wording about 3/4 way through it clearly states there is no cover provided if covid is directly or “indirectly“ due to cruising. This company was referred to us by a travel agent who was not even aware of this clause. As a paid agent of the insurer who was authorised by the insurer to sell their policies, the insurance company hadn’t brought this detail to the attention of their agents. I also understand that Covermore is one of the most common policies suggested/sold by travel agents. We found a much more appropriate policy with another company which includes better covid cover…including cruising."

It has now been 4 weeks of emailing, using "contact us" through your website, facebook messaging and calling only to get disconnected after being on hold for hours. We are travelling tomorrow and unless we can contact you will have to purchase another cover to make sure we are insured. I understand that you are busy, but this is just disgraceful!"

      I haven't had to file a claim yet, so I can't help, but I was wondering which was the company that had the better covid cover? Was it Allianz?

      On the contrary, people who have a great experience generally don't provide feedback/reviews. They shop with their money and buy another policy with them.

      I purchased Covermore insurance for NZ trips in 2017 & 2018. On one of the trips, I had a snowboarding accident and racked up a hospital bill in the few thousands of dollars plus other tours cancelled that I could no longer do. Covermore were fantastic the whole time, and once all was said and done I was only out of pocket my $150 excess.
      Saved me over $5k in medical expenses and all they ever asked for were my receipts/invoices.

      • thats interesting, are you able to share some evidence? i only see bad things about them online

      • We had a claim with them last year and was paid out 10 days later without any fuss
        (We got Covid on the last leg of out trip and had to isolate for a week) - our change of flights and extra accommodation costs were all covered

        Was a much better experience than the one we had with another insurer in 2018 for what should have been a very straight forward claim…..

        (Came here for the coupon to buy a policy for this years trip)
