  • Is this LED and does it comes with either 2 pin or 3 pin Aus plug, or do we need an electrician to wire it up?

    • I'm sorry that it doesn't come with a plug and needs an electrician to wire it up.

      • Hi Rep, are these warm white or cool white ?

        • +1

          It says 3k so warm

        • Hi happyhat, it's warm white.

          • @Star Sparky Direct: Hi Store Rep, Your website says free metro shipping for $99 above but it comes up with shipping cost while checking out. Can you please correct that.? I’m looking to order 4pc.

  • Hey StoreRep, what's the best place to put these types of lights? Are they good for an accent light that needs a narrow beam like in a display cabinet?

    • display cabinet?

      1. You’d be pretty flat out fitting it into a cabinet for 1

      2. Would require electrician

      3. 780lm at less than anything less than 2m or so would be insanely bright

      • The type of display cabinet I was thinking of was the narrow vertical ones that have 4-5 glass shelves and glass sides with a solid top and bottom. This could be fixed to the top as a downlight and light up the whole thing, just needs a long flex and a plug fitting (by a sparky of course).

        • +3

It’s still pretty chunky to put on the top cabinet.

60d beam by the time it goes through the 5 shelves is going to light the whole thing up and surrounding area like a Christmas tree… which I guess is okay for some people…

I would usually suggest a slim line surface mount puck light, 300-500 lumen and dimmable if you really only want 1 light. Beam angle something like 20D would be good for a thin case. Again, personal preference.

Hi alidi, it's ideal for housing.

How does this compare to the Bunnings version ?

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/lutec-10w-led-ip54-cool-white-bl…

    • Far out that is insanely cheap

If you don’t care that it’s cool white this is a cracker price with no fuss Bunnings warranty

    • Good find happyhat.
Hope they have one set up at my local B's, then I can check out JW's good guidance.

        Hi mate

In case you haven’t already - have you considered below at ikea

        https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/mittled-led-spotlight-dimmable-…

The lumen imo is insufficient for a 5-6 shelf setup for JUST ONE and beam angle is a bit large, but it’s

        1) diy with quick connect system

        2) easily replaceable and will be around for foreseeable future - no sparky call-out to schedule.

        3) looks to just mount with double side tape so should be easy to install to each shelf

        4) option to add dimming

        5) RELATIVELY reasonable price

        • +1

Aw thanks JW, that'll do just fine and they'll look much better in a cabinet than the above ones.

    • Bunnings one has higher lumens - two reasons for this, higher colour temperature means high lumens and also the CRI on the bunnings fitting is lower and higher CRI lowers efficiency. 90+ CRI is very good for $30. CRI is colour rendering and a low number means that the quality of the colours produced by the light will not be accurate. Sunlight is CRI 100, same as incandescent and some halogen. A typical Led fitting would be around 80. 90+ is normally a lot more expensive.

  • CITIZEN/CREE COB

    So which one is it
