Cheap Microsoft Office for Windows 10

Hi all,

Can you recommend a cheap Microsoft Office license? It's been a long time since I got one.

In Good Guys and Microsoft is $200 or $99 for a year.

When I google it comes in some shops overseas as $29-$49. Are these legit? Or where did you buy it?

    Libre

  • They are not legitimate.

Buy a year's worth from Good Guys or Officeworks or someone reputable in Australia and then stack multiple years when it goes on sale.

Lots of previous posts about how this works.

How often they go on sale? If not too long I may wait.

How about the old office say office 2013….
Can we get them for free? I know libre but if ms free then i prefer to use them.

I think there’s some legacy versions of office on archive.org

The cheapest option is to use LibreOffice instead as it costs $0.00!!!

    • Is that good? As in fast and easy transfer with other existing office files?

In the old computer I have a free chinese version of office but it was super slow and always had issues with excel files.

Personally I’ve tried using Libre for a few months and it’s just not close enough for my liking. Worth trying first though. I’m looking to get office again, maybe taking advantage of a family member’s education discount.

kind of agree. Some shortcuts or button combo arent the same as ms office, and im using ms suite a lot at work so i prefer to use the same thing at home if possible .
one example select few cells down then press ctrl D, on MS office it will copy down the content but not in libre. yes small things,

      • I assume you are referring to WPS Office. I had problems with earlier versions on older PCs, but currently I am using WPS Office 11.1.0.10702 without issues (including being able to round trip with MS Office without any fidelity issues or corruption). Slow to load (on an entry level HP desktop) but otherwise no problem once it is up and running.

        • Yes thats the one I have in the old laptop. I just downloaded it once and probably didnt get updated.

    have a look at saveonit

    • Just checked, it's only like $30 cheaper 😞.

Get the family 365 plan and split the cost with five other people.

I just use the free web version from Microsoft.

    • I had never heard of it. Can you create files? If I opened a file from the explorer would I have to login everytime I want to view it?

      Thanks

    • Just checked, it's only like $30 cheaper 😞.

Find a fee free TAFE course, then you can install Office365 for free for yourself.
Or login to a student email (kids at school) and install Office365 on up to 5 PC's/Macs, 5 Tablets, and 5 Smartphones…

I've used these guys a few times without any problems.

https://www.cdkeysales.com/software/p202110090817075870.html (Office 2021) Older versions are a bit cheaper.

If you have quibbles about 'legitimacy' then you will be stuck paying way too much IMO. If MS accepts the activation key that's all the legitimacy I need. Plus I need the money more than Gates does. :)

  • I know it’s not comparable, but Apple’s complete office suite is free for anyone with a computer. I tried Pages the other day to make a pinup community board ad, and it was actually pretty intuitive and easy to use, with great templates. Personally I use Google Docs for most non-work related things though.

Might as well pirate if you want to buy from those dodgy sites

  • becareful when using google words and excel (or they call it word and sheet?)

probably my fault, but somehow i made few excels, and save them to my NAS, but then not sure how, i think i reformatted my windows, and now i cannot open them. the file become invalid, very small size in bytes.
    lucky they are not important

Try the HUP if you’re employed and your org uses O365.

    • What's HUP? I do have my work's Office 365. However, at home there are 2 users. Would someone at home using it stop me from using it at work? Would the IT people at my company notice?

Those cheapo recycled office licences are legal in the countries that sell them, used heaps over the years for 2016/2019, had to call Microsoft to reactivate once but found you can get the code online.

No cloud but full, legit office.

Otherwise I think the best non ms suite is onlyoffice

Thank you very much, this is very cheap. I bought it from there :)

  • I use Google Docs almost exclusively now as I use multiple devices. I have LibreOffice for the occasional offline file.

  • Have bought a few win 10 keys from softwareg myself and was legit
